Not sure exactly how vintage this is but I did buy it in an antique shop! Total cost $9.07. I replaced the broken flat crystal with a nice domed one from my Timex spares. Mathey-Tissot quartz.

Actually Tissot and Mathey Tissot were two separate companies.

Incredible Gary, never knew that ! Shocked study Had always thought that they were once part of Tissot.
Kind of like the Heuer/TAG Heuer thing I guess. ..Now I know better !

Wow, this hobby is great isn't it ? Always am learning all of the time sir.

Thanks so much for the insight, and also link ! Smile

Well Heuer and Tag Heuer are the same company. Techniques d'Avant Garde the TAG in Tag Heuer was an automotive company (supplier to F1) and acquired them in the F1 days..then in LVMH bought them out. Rather than change the name back to Heuer, they kept TAG believing it was already too established to change. Now Tag Heuer markets watches under both names. The new vintage inspired watches all just say Heuer on them.

I will almost never say 'TAG' when referring to Tag Heuer...I feel the deep and storied history or the brand demands that I say Tag Heuer. (yes I am a fan-boy)

Awesome info once again here Gary !!! Fantastic sir ! Smile WRUW Tuesday 02/02/2016 46145

..Yup, I feel the same way about the 'TAG' vs. TAG Heuer thing too. It just feels right when you say the full name.
I bet even the company appreciates it !  WRUW Tuesday 02/02/2016 803574
