Seiko's new Prospex Black Series 2021

Guys, did you by chance see the new 2021 Seiko Prospex Black Series?

The series includes the Monster, Tuna, and Samurai. With each of the
new watches having 200m water resistance, as well as Hardlex crystals,
sleek black dials with beige Lumibrite lume, and cool unidirectional bezels.


First up, the Monster gives you a 42.4mm PVD coated stainless steel
case, cool rubber strap, along with Seiko 4R36 behind it all.








Then there is the Tuna with it's 46.7mm black PVD case, solar
powered V157 movement, sporty rubber strap, and more.





Next you have the Samurai with it's 43.8mm PVD case, stealthy rubber
strap, and Seiko 4R35 powering things.

Well sure they look good but....just an excuse to make more money with no innovation. People dig that I guess, so it's OK. Don't think I will get one of these.....just not different enough to bite, these are for the true collectors who need every version of each.

  Man oh man, you are making some fantastic points G. As always !

Yes, holy cow, you hit it out of the park big time honestly. It does feel a lot
like all of these versions we get of watch models is more to make money
rather than to do something cool, or groundbreaking. And you know, for
years I have said variety is the spice of life. But that doesn’t mean making
the same watches over, and over in different ways. It means making
new watches to add to the classics.

Nowadays we are seeing companies seemingly happy to just make new
versions of watches they already have tons of versions of. ..Why not make
more watches that are different, and that grab you?! Or us?!

I guess because it’s more difficult. ..It’s easier to just do the same thing
over, and over, but in slightly different ways. Rather than innovate sir.
It’s a little disappointing, you’re right.
