| I posted this some time ago at another forum. But I think it will also be appreciated here at this much young forum, too. I plan to do a follow up some time in the near future. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I decided to do a real comparison of Luminescence of some of my watches. I put the watches outside in Direct Sunlight for 15 Minutes. Then brought them into a darkened room for photographing with Canon G10. Note that I had to increase exposure time part way through the experiment. Here are the ones I chose for the study: Top Row Left to RightInvicta Diver Chrono, Invicta Speedway, Zodiac ZO2214 V8, Zodiac ZO2601, Tissot PRC200, Zodiac ZO2264 SeaDragon, Orient Mako, Vostok Amphibian, Oris TT1 Day/Date. Bottom Row Left to RightTissot Seastar 1000, ESQ Tournament Diver, Seiko Samurai, Invicta 5017, Invicta Abyss Chrono, Invicta Abyss, Tag Heuer F1, Invicta Russian Diver . . . After 2 Minutes inside, Exposure: ASA 200, F 3.5, Time 8 Seconds. . . After 8 Minutes inside, Exposure: ASA 200, F 3.5, Time 15 Seconds. . . After 23 Minutes inside, Exposure: ASA 200, F 3.5, Time 15 Seconds. . . After 55 Minutes inside, Exposure: ASA 200, F 3.5, Time 15 Seconds. . The two that last - Seiko and Tag Heuer. The Tag hands are brighter than the Seiko. . I hope this interesting to you all. Regards Mike

| I knew the Seiko would last, but I figured the Oris would make in one of the top slots for sure.
I'm also surprized at the F1. Mine does not seem to last as long. It may just seem that way since the actual area with lume is relatively small

| What a cool idea Mike ! It does seem like the Seiko was the brightest ! Plus it was staying charged for a while too ! Some of the others were pretty good as well. I noticed that the hands did better than the markers on many of the watches as well !..Thank you for the comparison ! ____________________________________ | |

| I think the Tag Heuer hands are better than the Seiko. But the markers are tiny and disappear pretty quickly.
I did this test half a year ago or something like that. I hope to do another test soon. I'll do a much longer test time of 6 or 8 hours.

Mike. I think your right about the Tag Heuer hands there ! It seems like the watch companies put more lume on the hands in most cases. VERY interesting !!! I'm looking forward to the next tests..thanks again Mike ! ____________________________________

| No surprise that Seiko led the charge. With all that surface area-the Russian Diver would light up the room if decent lume were applied. | |
