I'll quote the very knowledgeable Chascomm regarding this movement:

"It's basically a Chinese standard movement with auto-winding. The base movement has the
added refinement of 2 jewels on the mainspring barrel (an excellent way
of improving the durability of a watch, particularly an auto), and also
rather mysteriously one on the crown wheel. This is fairly useless in
the hand-winding ZB-1, but in the auto, the winding action is
transmitted via the crown wheel, a bit of friction reduction there is
beneficial. What this does tell us is that Beijing must have planned
from the outset to do an auto version.

The auto-winding has two jewels each on the two reverser wheels and
the single step-down wheel. That brings our total up to 26 jewels.
Where are the other 14? Back in the mid-1950s, the US Elgin factory
came up with a brilliant alternative to the ratchet-clutch wheels used
as reversers by ETA and others. Instead they used this:

The balls can rotate
freely when the wheel turns in one direction, but will lock when
turning the other way. Now imagine the 3 steel balls replaced by 7 ruby
balls and you'll understand where all those other jewels went
."

So, here's my movement shots...
