Parts from Noah arrive!!! Sun is out new pictures

Been working on about 4 mods at one time and just finished the second one about an hour ago! Watch started out as a Balmer commander and was 1 of 400LE watches with an ETA 6431. the movement was found in a warehouse after 40 years (new old stock) and was used in WWII pilots watches! The watch listed for some crazy price like 8 grand but if you could find a watch it woull be between 350 and 500 bones! Cool watch but never really dug the dial with very little lume and the handset wasnt very pilot like! The watch came on leather and the case was full polished!

awhile back i brushed the bezel and gave a how to do it thread.





Still not thrilled with the piece and not buying into how much it was worth i brushed the whole case and caseback with scotch-brite, 1500 grit sandpaper and a fiberglass pen, ordered a pilots style dial and handset from Noah and they arrived today so i put it together and couldnt be happier, the watch was a nine eater but decided i didnt want a sub second hand dial, and the watch is a hand cranker!
It's raining but a just couldnt wait to take some pics, watch is on black panatime leather but i'm sure i will get a few 22mm ridinfool straps for it! On with the pics! My camera does lousy pictures if it not in the sun, or i should say i do bad pics and not blame the camera!























Forgot the watch is 49mm 2 to 8, 47mm 12 to 6 and 44mm at the bezel, about 14mm thick and a nice thick sapphire crystal!

movement ! THAT was something else ! The old dial
was nice, but man, oh man Trev..NOW it's on fire with
that smokin new dial !!! I also can't believe how great

That is a mighty fine job you did on that. I as most others like the new look much better. I do like a second hand but that dial can do without.
