I've wanted this one ever since I first saw it over a year ago.

It's not fancy or flashy but there's just something about the dimensions and the cleanliness that I really like..and the goldtone indices against black and stee and the domed crystal. The deeply protected crown selects firmly and winds like butter. The thing sorta reminds me of a milgauss but, nicely, it's not close enough to be called an homage. It looks turned out but not military. Ultra-dependable SB1H Shanghai "B" automatic movement/35 jewels.

As near I know it's a straight up Shanghai design, and I think Shanghai would do well do think more along these lines for the North American market. It's a classy adult market three-hander with date.

Plus it's got the beefiest strap I've seen come from a Chinese manufacturer...even a solid thick buckle. It feels like a Hirsch Liberty--and that's a compliment.

Specs:

I'm really pleased.

The seller, again, was Mr. Zhao Yanyan ( lingdianliseller at Ebay although he didn't list this piece on Ebay...yet Smile )...and I'm finding him to be a treat to deal with. Mr Zhao communicates most easily in Chinese but I find Google Translate and Bing Translate allow me good and very friendly communication.

It's fun finally getting a watch you have wanted for a while
like this right Ron ?! ..There is an elegant feel to this watch
as soon as you lay eyes on it. It has that flawless case, which
couldn't be classier by the way. I like how all of the different
elements on top, below, as well as on the sides of the case
reflect the light. This is one to REALLY enjoy on the wrist,
or even if it's just sitting on a table. You are right about that
crown being protected too. That is uniquely cool sir ! Also
like the gold against the black of the dial. The markers almost
seem to be on fire in those pictures !!! It's really something
else !..The hands are the same way. I like the shape of them
as well. They're classic, vintage looking, and fit in very very
nicely with the entire feel of the watch. What's neat is how
in certain light the markers, and hands look especially vibrant,
and then in the last picture they look a little more subdued.
You can also then see how GREAT your new watch looks on
the wrist ! ..Have to add that the strap on this watch
is EXTRA NICE imho. It DOES look thick, while at the same
time fitting that classic elegant look of the watch. The
quality, the stitching, and that buckle genuinely finish off
the theme of this watch perfectly !..Have to be proud of
this one Ron, AND it's a Limited Edition, so that makes it
even more FUN !!!..By the way, it looks like it says 35
jewels on the dial there !..THAT is pretty AMAZING if you
ask me ! ..Congrats to you sir !..I think you will be
ENJOYING this one !!!

Tremendous watch, and photos !

Classy looking watch! Pretty cool having such a limited edition aswell, 280 pieces. Omega could learn something from that
Good too see you again, Ron. I was afraid you were gone for a while

By the way..evidently not limited edition...the LTD meant something else (but that's because I don't understand Chinese very well)

I still like it a bunch though! :-)

Nice watch Ron. How big is the collection of genuine Chinese watches getting now, must be a couple hundred?

Actually it's only about 90 including a very few doubles--but I have another roughly 30 that aren't Chinese.

Still, I'm pretty happy even with that low a number

Great looking watch Alberta...

...I don't see Mlgaus at all and that's not a bad thing IMO.

Very clean dial, 3-hand, day/date...nothing much better!
