Hey Guys, I am interested in adding a Tag to my collection. I'd like to hear your pros and cons on this brand. I know a little about them. I like the looks and functions of a couple models. In Particular:

Tag Heuer Movadobaby_2129_237425891 Hybrid-mechanical
Tag Heuer Movadobaby_2126_378311951 Auto
Tag Heuer Movadobaby_2124_559879067 Auto

Any input on the hybrid-mechanical would be appreciated. Thanks!

Wow John ! Shocked These are three STUNNING watches here !!! Smile
All I can say is that all of them have a ton of pros in my opinion.
They look as good on the inside as they do on the outside, and
they are pretty much flawless in every respect. I like how Tag
Heuer makes watches that seem both modern and timeless. Their
watches really do seem like some of the coolest, as well as classiest
watches around, with excellent craftsmaship, and cool innovations
also. I honestly think all three of these are NICE ! ..Any one of them
would be the right choice sir ! REALLY liking the Link Calibre S Hybrid-
mechanical, and the Grand Carrera automatic there at the bottom
that you are showing !

By the way, here is a quote I got from the Tag Heuer website about
that Hybrid-Mechanical movement sir..

"A true hybrid, the electro-mechanical timepiece is an ingenious mix
of mechanical watchmaking expertise and extraordinary quartz precision.
With no fewer than 230 mechanical components and five bi-dirctional
micro-engines, the Calibre S is a mechanical movement with quartz
precision."

..Sounds pretty cool !

Here a link to their website with even more information..

Thanks Tom. Pretty amazing stuff.... I have read some on the hybrid-mechanicals. It would be interesting to hear comments from current or past tag heuer owners. It seems that there is some divide out there regarding the tag heuer vs. heuer watches.

I am sort of a Tag Heuer fan .. Razz , so I guess it's OK if I comment. Last year I was looking to buy one nice newer Tag to compliment my 2000 Series Classic Automatic I bought new in 2001. My first real watch and what got me into watches to begin with.

Tag Heuer Tagwreck009a

I really liked the Calibre S (the Hybrid Mechanical) too and could not wait to try it on.....I even found several models discounted. BUT I started to read what the guys were saying about the watch in the TH forum at WUS, and found that a few of them had failures and also the chrono hands were 'sloppy' on a few of them....Tag said this movement was normal because of the way the mechanism was made and the tolerances involved, and some they would warrantee and others they did not. Then I got to thinking 'this is an in house TH movement'....quite a piece of work for sure BUT too complicated.......when they quit making it you will never be able to get it fixed...NEVER. So I turned my eyes to the mechanical pieces and picked out a beautiful Cal. 5 Link. If I was going to spend this kind of jing it was not going to be on a watch that was basically quartz and would some day be worthless. IMHO. Maybe thinks have changed, check out the TH forum at WUS and search for threads on the Cal S.

Tag Heuer Tagcal52012

I also bought a Carrera Automatic Chrono a few days later because I got it at 50% off. Awesome piece!! Highly recommended....

Tag Heuer Tag18k2015

I have several other Tag Heuers and a couple Heuers. Tag to me is about on par with Omega as far as price, quality and reputation, but they spend as much on advertizing as Rolex. Is advertizing bad? It sells product, but you get people who don't know anything about watches that buy Tags and Rolex. Usually Omegas are bought by more WIS types (my Opinion only). I like Tag Heuer and recommend you try a few on.....you will know if it's right for you.

Don't mention it John ! Smile Glad I could help you out ! ..Their watches and movements do seem pretty
amazing. This Tag Heuer really seems to know a thing or two about this whole watch making thing ! cheers
Looking forward to hearing more about these watches. Would also be very interesting to hear more
about Tag Heuer vs. Heuer too !

..TREMENDOUS looking watches by the way Gary !!!

Hey John...

Of the three you have shown, I like the last one best!

Very CLEAN for a Chrono...

Keep us posted...

I'm leaning toward that one Alan. I am going to Jared Jewelers to take a look at the Tag line. I'm also planning on seeing Christophers main man at Crown Jewelers. Might find something at both places!

I have 4 that I picked up over the past 5 years and consider them to be of very good quality. Lately, I've held off due to their prices getting out of hand with the better watches priced at $3500 or more. My next may be an F1 as I no longer have that model TAG.

I do like the day/date Link posted above. Very elegant and great pic.
