About 2 years ago (when I was buying Invicta watches still) I picked up a black IP Reserve Speedway. I got it at a pretty good price and liked the "stealth" look; all black except for the bezel. Well I hadn't thought about the whole stealth concept when it came to black hands on a black dial, not really a good combination if you want to SEE WHAT THE TIME IS!!!!!
A couple of pics of the watch as received.
As you can see or not see, the hands are extremely hard to distinguish from the brilliant orientation (sarcasm) on the black MOP.
I picked up some white hour/min hands and red and white sub-dial hands. Chris stripped and painted/re-lumed the sweep second hand. All hands associated with regular time keeping are in white, all hands associated with the chrono functions are red. I think it turned out pretty good.
I can actually see what the time is now, and I have to admit it is a well made watch.
Oh yeah, the typical amount of drool was running down my chin as I was gawking at the Lum-Tecs on display.
Just a small sample of what was displayed.
This one is a real eye cather!
I can't thank Chris enough for his effort, especially when there are a lot of watch shops that won't touch an Invicta.
