Won this early '70s Rado automatic for a song on eBay. Just took delivery yesterday. It's keeping excellent time. The engine
is a 25-jewel ETA 2789 automatic with quick-set day/date. I've already ordered a mesh bracelet to go with it, then it's
"flipper" time! Laughing

I guess you are gonna turn a pretty good profit if you are flipping it!

Whoa Tom ! Just look at this one here !!! Very Happy It has that neat Rado style about it, with some
added vintage charm. It's just AWESOME ! One thing that is so great about this one, is that
you aren't going to see it too much, if at all. The whole vintage thing makes this watch that
much more special. I mean you can look around at alot of Rado watches, and find many
cool new models. However, an older, more scarce watch like this is REALLY interesting, and
intriguing also imho. Smile Another excellent feature here is the way the cases are. First of all,
the shape of it is unbelievably attractive. It bows outward near the dial, and then turns inward
as it gets closer to the strap in a really cool way. Cool That look is very memorable, and I think
it's nice to see where the case-shape originally came from like this. Many times we see case
shapes today, but may not always know where the look came from, or where it started.
Also want to say that the brushing is pretty remarkable too. It seems to move outward, or
inward in these perfect strokes. Plus it leads you to take notice of the dial even more also.
First you see that part of the case where it's separated from the dial, and crystal. The way
the steel is cut, and dips down toward the dial is PHENOMENAL if you ask me. Also enjoy
how that crystal looks with it's thickness, and overall shape. You can really appreciate how
the whole thing comes together, and sets off this outstanding dial. Those raised markers
are just one part for example. The double block look, along with that 3D feel is something
to see. As are the similar looking hands, with their neat rectangular look there ! Even the
second hand looks great as it swoops down in between those elegant hash marks there. Picked up a vintage Rado "flipper" 46145
Have to also add, that the Rado emblem is always SO cool to see. ..That circle with rotor is
unmistakable ! It's also nice to see how long Rado has been using this logo here too. This
one basically seems like the same idea as what they use on their watches today, which is
pretty TERRIFIC in my opinion. ..Actually the whole watch is terrific Tom ! ..The case, that
dial, and the classy strap work REALLY well together. Then turning this watch over to see it's
case-back shows that this watch has it all. Can't say enough how GREAT that looks with it's
attention to detail, as well as just the overall design sir. On top of that, the shape it is in is
unbelievable also. So you can genuinely appreciate the original feel, and look here on this one. Picked up a vintage Rado "flipper" 803574
Think that is one of the best things about a vintage watch Tom. There is alot of history in a
watch like this, not to mention that charm we talked about above. Whether you are keeping
it, or looking to allow someone else to enjoy it. This one has a TON of character within it !
It also happens to have a beautiful looking movement inside of it sir. There is that brushing on
the rotor which reminds you of the brushing on the outside of the case. Plus that criss-cross
decoration adds yet another uniquely cool twist ! Yowza !!! ..Oh, and IT is ALSO in fantastic
shape as well. THIS vintage Rado was FUN to see Tom, and it has to be VERY fun seeing it
there in person. Definitely a charming, as well as classic watch ! Congratulations on winning
this one, and I hope you will enjoy it !

Amazing watch, and photos !

I guess you can see a similarity in style from the early '70s Rado to this one in their current catalog:
