PostSubject: Explaining The Bart Simpson Rolex Submariner 5513   Fri Apr 22, 2011 12:27 pm

Made for a short period in the 1960s (most seem to have been made in 1966), these Submariners were the last to feature gilt (gold) printing and they had a very distinctive coronet on the dial. The points of the coronet were relatively flat and stubby, not unlike Bart Simpson’s hair. While some may say the Bart coronet is a far cry from what some may call a more regal coronet found on the previous gilt Subs, I think this coronet makes these Bart Subs have much more character than other Subs...

It's really amazing how you can always be learning new things with this
hobby. You can look, and learn about tons of watches, and brands both
new, and old, and only really scratch the surface it seems. These Bart
Simpson Submariners are a good example of that. ..Truthfully had not
known about the nick name, various different details, or much at all
about these watches, but now I do. ..Thanks alot Guy !
