Have you by chance heard of the Seiko SilverWave? Just saw this great history lesson, along with story
behind it over at Fratello Watches everyone. Which tells how the SilverWave was basically a precursor to
Seiko's dive watches, and them getting into the whole style.

The SilverWave's were evidently made from 1961-1964, and even though they had just 30-50 meter water
resistance, they still had other pure dive watch features like super-compressor-like crowns, internal rotating
timing bezels, luminous hands, markers, and pips, used a 17-jewel 6601 movement, and even was the
first Seiko to have the "tsunamiā€ emblem used on it's case-back.
