This watch uses several 'lies' on the dial in addition to the Date box. Eseikor, they would paint over the E and R, now you have a Seiko. The word 'Electra' at the time Electric, and Electronic were all the rage, this is an attempt to fool people into believing this is an Electronic watch. '23' on the dial, usually this is the jewel count but this doesn't say jewels. It's only a single jewel watch. Swiss parts not Swiss made on dial.
What a spectacular history lesson here Gary, and I guess one that really does show that history actually
does repeat itself sir !
It's funny, I think a lot of times companies/brands feel like the more they put on
the dial the more professional, or cool looking it becomes. But it often ends up doing the opposite right?!
Yowza, and with that Eseikor, I'm still smiling over adding the E, and R to Seiko like that.
So funny !
To be honest, I was thinking this was an early off shoot division that Seiko had years ago, so it actually
fooled me !
Wow, you evidently had, and still have to be on point with knowing your stuff when
looking at not only new watches, but vintage ones too Gary ! ..Whether it's the Electra/Electronic thing,
or way the date window was done, 23 on the dial, or Swiss Made thing. There seem to be quite a few
interesting ways watch companies could get away with 'lies'. ..Although I have to say, this EseikoR can
honestly get away with a lot of those lies because it's so different, and funky if you ask me !
Love the red disco style dial, and then way the case/inner ring/bezel closes in around it like that !
Now Gary, is this watch yours' by the way sir? For some reason, I'm not remembering you having it.
In any case, some awesome insight, along with info here. ..Thanks very very much !!!
