| Have you guys had a chance to see this new Certina? Their newest DS Action Diver 38mm has a new 38mm stainless steel case, 300m WR, sapphire crystal, black, blue, or green unidirectional rotating bezel choice, black, or blue dials with SLN coated hands, and markers, and either stainless, or two tone finish bracelets. Then the Powermatic 80 movement is there powering it all. Check them out... OceanicTime, and Certina too for you... | Don't get me wrong, these are nice looking, but a bit of a boring design. They are $850 more or less. I am not a super fan of the movement but it's OK. My 40mm rule still stands, so 38mm is too small for me.
That rule is no new watches under 40mm, If it's a redo of a vintage watch then 36-38mm is okay, vintage watches can be any size that was normal for their time.
I think there is a lot to choose from at this price point so a sub homage needs to be off the charts awesome, I don't see that here. ____________________________________ Later, GaryRemember we are the caretakers of mechanical art..... The smaller watch case size trend really does look to be in full swing Gary. And it seems to include so many new watches coming out today, it's not even funny. With many not even having a vintage vibe like you are saying. So it doesn't always seem to make as much sense. However, I guess Certina just wanted to get in on the 'Action'. ..See what I did thee? Oh, and have to agree on price as well sir. It could maybe come down by half, or so right?! Thanks very very much for looking sir, and chiming in on these !!! ____________________________________ | |
