What do you think about everything?

Guys, I have been thinking about this so much over the last few years. 
Maybe you have as well. 

But don't you think technology could, or should be better than it is? 
That things in life in general could or should be better?

I mean yes, people have their phones, as well as computerized cars,
along with basically everything else in life. However, isn't that all of
just on the surface? ..Or surface stuff?

All of it, is basically just like a new coat of paint on the same house,
or walls of a house right?! 

Where are the cures for sickness, along with diseases that we all 
genuinely needed many decades ago? And how come all aspects of
life haven't been made better? ..Why is it just the newest phone?
Or type of car? TV? Or technological thingamabob the only things
that seem to matter? When real life, along with real people should
be the focus.

And you know, to tell the truth, maybe it's because I have watched
too many sci-fi movies, along with shows over the years. But all of
the new technology, although cool to see and find out about. Does
not seem that great to me.   Because the phones are way
way overpriced and seemingly all the same, the new cars are like
Tyco Turbo Hoppers/remote controlled battery operated cars from
the 80's. That honestly should have way better technology than 
being a big cell phone on wheels. And having everything in life 
computerized is nice, not to mention helpful. *BUT* what if all of 
those things stop working all of a sudden? 

Suddenly we are all in the stone ages, and no one knows how to do
anything but download new apps and be good at video games and
making videos or posting on a social media. ..But the power is off 
and you can't do any of it, so what then? 

Honestly, people seem to have known so much more years ago.
More about real life and how to do real things. Rather than basically 
all of these technologically cool surface things which are almost 
fake in a lot of ways. 

I mean are we just creating our own Matrix to be in? 

Shouldn't or couldn't technology be better? And shouldn't everything 
honestly be better than it is? People? And everything?

From people, as well as real relationships, family, friends, all of it.

I am not sure how to approach this. In a way you are right, technology only goes so far. Let's go back 50 years to 1973. We had cars, we had computers, we had planes, rockets, jets, wars, crime, porn even the first portable phone had just been invented. On April 3, 1973, Motorola engineer Martin Cooper made the first-ever cell phone call on the DynaTAC 8000X. 50-70 years ago cars were stylish and unique, but today they are all the same. Way better in every way except looks.

You have to back a hundred years or more to see the real change. A hundred years ago life was still a primitive, but with most of today's technology. 200 hundred years ago some people were shitting in the grass still, but we still had guns and cities, banks, etc but life expectancy was less than 40 years! Giant leaps are usually slow, but they do happen.

Technology has made everything better, faster, more powerful but it is still the same shit. Where are the flying cars and Rosie the Robot from the Jetson's for shits sake! (Well those things are out there, just not ready for primetime yet)

All this technology has made people weak, they no longer know how to anything without power and will die when solar flares or a nuke take out the power grid. Most people can't grow or harvest their own food.

I read about what would happen if the grid when down and was down for months or years or forever...all the animals in the woods were killed within 6 months, then roving gangs started to look for people with camps or shelters (just look for the wood smoke) and then robbed and killed them to take their prepper stuff.

I honestly agree with everything you said here above, and what's funny is you talking about the
grid going down due to a solar flare, or weapon of some sort was exactly what I was thinking of  
which prompted me to make the post.   Basically that whole thing over the weekend with the 
Chinese balloon baffled me.   And I couldn't believe that a balloon was allowed to go all the way 
around the world and across the country like it did. ..I mean it's a balloon !   And here I am 
thinking we have all of these cool ways of stopping anything from happening to us, yet a balloon floats 
here and totally makes a mockery of everything. And that point you make about the grid going down 
was what I was 100% thinking of with it. ..Because of the possiblility of there being a weapon, or EMP 
on board.   ..Seriously, can you imagine what that would be like?! ..Well evidently you can because
you explained all of what would happen in your post. 

It's just really scary because as you said, people really don't know how to do things other than be
great at dowloading apps, posting on social media, and playing video games, or making videos. 
So it's upsetting to me because we have made people kind of content, as well as weak as you said
in so many ways. And rather than making ourselves better in every way, we seem to be resigned
to immersing ourselves in the Matrix and pretending things are terrific. 

And don't get me wrong, I do think and know that things are way easier, as well as technologically
awesome sir. ..It's just that I think we are worried about the wrong things, or the less important
things in life. ..Phones, TV's, cars, AI, easy fast shopping and shipping of items is great, but I just
think people should realize that a lot of that is just surface stuff.   The real focus should be on
genuine innovations in science, the medical world, and REAL life, not sleek, cool gadgets or new
innovations related to old things. ..We need cures for diseases, as well as real improvement in 
and for people's real lives. Not improvements in cameras on a phone, or how fast an electric car 
can go 0-60.
