Did anyone feel that?  affraid  Idea

Kind of crazy right guys?!  Surprised

Gary, I am thinking you maybe didn’t feel this, but you must
have on your end Darius. ..I hope you weren’t to rattled, but
it was kind of scary right?!

I hope everything is okay with you guys.

This semi small earthquake here in New Jersey which registered as
a 4.8 magnitude evidently is supposedly the third strongest in 280
years of keeping track of them in the New York, New Jersey, as well
as Pennsylvania. (Tri-state Area) they say. With only a 5.2 in 1737
and a 5.3 in 1783 registering larger.

In New Jersey though, it is the second strongest since 1884.

As long as 280 years sounds like....it's a drop in the bucket of the Earth. The modern seismometer wasn't developed until the 1800's so any reference earlier must be a calculation from an older type instrument.

You make such a great point Gary. Wink 280 years is nothing really, and wow, yes, I was
wondering about how they were measuring those earthquakes back so long ago. Earthquake in New Jersey? New York? Pennsylvania? 803574

Like you are saying, it must have been a different way of measuring or something.
It’s fascinating the whole experience of feeling one though, that is for sure. cyclops Very Happy

Thanks so so much for chiming in, as well as for your insight on the seismometer !!!
