What was the first television commercial broadcast in Japan?

It was at 7pm on August 28, 1953 on Nihon TV (NTV) for a Seiko-sha (House of Precision) alarm clock.

speaking of weird Seiko stuff. I was watching The Smoking Gun the other night. A guy in India I believe was trying to break a world record of kissing Cobra's on the head (of course without being bitten). In the background of the filming, I saw a bunch of Sponsor boards, and Seiko was right there dead center.

Oh, the guy did it, 45 Cobra's. Am I the only one that watches these shows and roots for the Cobra?

It's great to see the long history of brands like Seiko ! I think many people
don't appreciate or even know how long Seiko has been making great quality
watches !..Thanks for showing this Doc ! ..Great points about the Seiko
sponser boards too Mr. Noob..it's amazing how many times you can find
advertisements from watch brands like Seiko if you look. I think it helps
being watch people too..because our eyes always seem to be drawn
to these adds ! It's a VERY special ability !
