| Wife and daughter out of town so me and son are going to see Avatar!
Gonna skip the 3d version the first time as I heard it can be a bit distracting...
...should be a fun GUYS DAY! ____________________________________

| I've talked to grown adults that went back to see this thing in 3D, in IMAX, etc. It must be good, let us know. |

| I think I mentioned that a movie critic here said for the first time ever in his career he was going back to see the same movie for a second time. |

| That sounds like fun ! This movie has become a REAL phenomenon and even though I still haven't seen it. I think you both are going to definitely ENJOY the movie ! It's amazing because the movie has been out for a while and it's actually getting more and more popular every week ! Have a GREAT time and let us know how the both of you liked it ! ____________________________________ | |

| GREEN movie but not preachingly so, didn't feel like Al Gore was sitting next to me...
Didn't seem like nearly 3 hrs, the story moved well...
Some people complained about the romance/love scene, very tasteful and only lasted like 30 seconds???
The problem with CGI movies in the past is that the eyes and lips never conveyed real human emotion, in Avatar they did. That said, the walking of the Nivi and the creatures of the planet seemed a bit STIFF and sometimes looked like they were FLOATING on the ground instead of HITTING it with each step...
Good movie but not a see it "time and time again" type, will never replace Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, or Matrix Trilogy...
I give it an 9.5 out of 10 though because the facial structures and movements were amazing...
Before long real actors won't even be necessary...hmmmm. ____________________________________

| Didn't this movie already outsell Star Wars if I heard correctly? |

Sure, but in 25 years people will still be watching Star Wars, not Avatar... And NO, not trying to argue with ya Noob, just a SW freak here! ____________________________________

I was not blown away by this movie. I enjoyed it and that is about it. It is a rehashed story from many other movies that came before it. But I will say this - IT IS WORTH IT to see it on the big screen. It is a "big movie" if that makes sense. It will look fine on your TV, but it is stunning visually on the big big screen. Just my opinion.

That is about 20 seconds longer than I need... I would have given the couple a standing O...

| Very honest review there Alan..I'm glad you guys liked it ! One extra thing to add here since I am a Star Wars fan too ! When adjusted for inflation, Star wars basically would have made 1.3 Billion Domestically ! Basically ticket prices were not as much back when movies were released years ago. In any case, we Star Wars fans can be happy about that. Thanks for the review and by the way would you recommend Avatar in regular or 3D ! http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/adjusted.htm____________________________________ | |

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/adjusted.htm I didn't see it in 3-D, I will if I see it again... VERY cool !..I know some people say it is amazing in 3D and that it's not 3D all of the time, which sounds good. ____________________________________

| I just saw the movie tonight. Entertaining, predictable but fun story. I like all movies, not terribly picky.
The movie shows another level of computer graphics capability over most things past. Another step along the way to a movie that looks like real life without any real captured footage. Add 3D to push the point.
I think it is well worth seeing. I chose Real 3D instead of Imax. I thought Imax might be overkill. I'm happy wit my choice. But who knows, I may have liked Imax more.
I recommend seeing it in 3D.
