What do you guys think about getting together to design a XMT watch?

Maybe with these specs:

42-44mm case
120 click bezel
500 - 1000m wr
HRV
Automatic Movement - Swiss or Japanese (this may be cool)
Three hands
Date only
Crown position at 4 o'clock
simple dial, but not boring
Cost $500, maybe a little more...cost NOT PRICE

What do you guys think?


Maybe calloborate with DWC to get a bigger pool of participants???

Forum watches suck the big grey one. Where is Thomas Carey when we need him?

Nice specs, I'd say slightly larger case size though, 44-47mm. Dial will be tough, keeping it clean simple but not boring and unique enough to stand out from all the boutique watches out there.

That seems DOABLE. Maybe get with Noah or one of the other MOD Kings...

FOR ME, it has to be at LEAST 44mm...

3-hand or 3-hand GMT...

All the other specs you notated are cool!

I'd be interested. The 44mm is a good all around size. I would think the hands and hour markers are what would be the most distinguishing features to set this watch apart from others. I think a XMT marking would be very cool Alan. 3 hand auto all the way with a crisp, clean dial.

How about hands that look like lightening bolts? Sort of like the Milgauss from that company.

Good idea! 44mm would be the biggest I'd go though, to throw a wrench in the gears. All other ideas work for me!

Of course then there's that TZ-UK forum watch that sold for $600 new and now goes for $2-3k depending. What a crappy deal that was too.

We could contact Grovana (maker of Steinhart and Debaufre) - to get a Swiss Made SW2000 300M diver about 43 mm.

Specs look good. definately handwind if Seiko mvt. (6R15).

I'd have to see it before I'd commit.

Nothing makes more of public statement of "I'm a pathetic geek" than a forum watch. Hell, I like to lie to myself sometimes into believing that I'm just a normal guy that likes watches. No offense.

It would have to look damn good like the Benarus post above. that's a good looking watch

I have to agree...quite impressive!

I dig the whole "forum watch" thing, don't think it's geeky or ghey at all. Never had one, would love to give it a shot.

benarus isnt a forum watch is it? Does it say 3T or WUS on it anywhere! Being sold through a forum and a forum watch are two different birds! The Holotype went up in price right after it was sold out but has come back down in price, hope your watch does hold it's value steve!

it may not say 3ts on it but thats where it got started (name and some of the design) series 2 they said will be $1.000 and maybee some kind of discount, no pre-order price. so being a l.e. of 100 pcs. im sure it will hold its value.the watch its self is worth more than a grand. i sure wish you would have got in on this one and you could see for your self, how they hit this watch out of the park.
