Corporate world at its finest!!

Ordered a few things from otto frei, couple bottles of lume and a few goodies! Shipped out yesterday on FedEx(express saver) so think i will get it this morning, OttoFrei is maybe 80 minutes from me, so track the package and it's in Memphis TN.!!! Call FedEX and they tell me the order is on time and will be delivered on the 19th, asked the lady if she thought anything was wrong with sending a package all the way across the country on a plane to sort and put it back on a plane to Oakland (where it started from) and then deliver it on a truck to me!! She says nothing is wrong and you will get it by the scheduled delivery date! Told her you just sent a package twice across the country that could have been put on a truck and delivered the next day!! She said all packages are sorted in Memphis!! No wonder things are so screwed up in the corporate sector of this country!! Even OttoFrei answer was you will get it on the stated delivery date, but what about all the money lost shipping it 6000 miles for a 80 mile trip, maybe it's just me?

REASON seems to make no difference these days...

Memphis is FedEx's hub for all domestic packages. I've been there to watch the planes come in, one after another, get unloaded, then the package sorting and reloading. It's an unbelievable process, and all done over the course of 4 hours if I recall. That's the way they do it, whether it makers sense or not, and they've been pretty successful, and they did say your package would be delivered on time as scheduled with the shipper.

I prefer USPS Priority Mail myself. I get packages shipped on Monday from California delivered on Wednesday here in Nashville. That's great service, especially for the price.

Why did Frei ship FedEx and not USPS?

just talked to gracie at otto frei again, ups would have been next morning for like 5 bucks, i didnt see where they used ups but that is what i will do next time!

You sound like those folks from Minneapolis that have to go into St. Paui It's not like you're going to East LA for gosh sakes....

might do a search on Oakland CA, not sure east LA has anything on the this place!! Need to google map it to see how far into the hood they are!

Sounds VERY odd Trevor, that's for sure ! There just needs to be a little
common sense used in situations like this I guess !

same thing here Trevor, ordered an auto movement last week from OF and it went back east and then here. Glad it was only three days this time.

It sure seems like a waste of time and money to do it that way but like 240 said, that's how they do it and they are very successful, how I have no idea. I would also use USPS Priority shipping watches too.

Got a raider T-shirt and a snap on gold tooth cap just for the oakland run!! I get all my wire rope from west coast wire and they are right next to the coliseum!! On a happy but strange note my fedex package has arrived! they are good at what they do but from oakland to memphis to oakland to salinas just seems a little silly to me but there are alot smarted dudes running that place than me!!

They shipped it "air" so it went air. They don't fly between Oakland and Salinas... now if they had shipped it ground.
