| It's been decades since I owned a Rolex. There I said it. Ok, that out of the way. I read elsewhere that Rolex finally copped a clue about their bracelets being a joke and copied the MM300 clasp among other things Any truth to the rumor that Rolex no longer has the most hysterically over priced and under performing bracelets in WISdom? |

Glad to hear they've improved their bracelets. I owned a Rolex and the bracelet was a POS - period. My question is legit - did they copy the MM300's famous extension for their newer diver bracelets? |

Imo they don't look the same... ...I would need to see a peripheral shot of the Seiko bracelet. ____________________________________ | |

| from what i can tell this is the same as on the marine master, and they both seem to have a slide out extension on the clasp, whereas it looks like the Rolex deep see lifts up.......... |

| not my pic but i suggest you take the MM bracelet down to your rolex AD and compare, dont think there will be much doubt if they copied seiko bracelet!! Dont most seiko lovers say this seiko bracelet rattles like crazy and doesnt fit the case very well, kinda a one bracelet fits all kinda thing? |

No, not that I have heard. My monster bracelets don't rattle at all. My Double-Ought is on a Super Oyster and its just fine thanks. As for copying - perhaps they tinkered with it but it looks as if the idea was certainly from the Land of the Rising Sun and not from the Alps. Just my opinion. Oh, and its not just my opinion about Rolex bracelets in years gone by - google it. Perhaps, as I do not keep up with Rolex at all, they have changed their approach to bracelets in the past 4-5 years but I can tell you that when I got into WISdom around '05 they were derided by all but the hard-core Koolaid drinkers as being a joke. That led me to believe that they had done nothing to improve them in 10+ years since I had last handled one. Nothing is perfect, but at those prices (which seem to go up consistently even when the economy is poor) they ought to be a lot closer IMHO. Oh, and before anyone says it - Seiko ain't perfect either but its a lot more value for your money IMHO too. It's why I no longer own a Rolex but consistently add Seiko's to my hoard. |
