Many of you are aware I haven't been feeling up to DUFF lately. Some of you are also aware that I have smoked for over 40 years and was able to drop those puppies 12 weeks ago. I had a cardiac echo last month which showed that my mitral and tricuspid valves in my heart weren't quite working right. Tend to let some blood backflow into the vessels. I don't believe this is serious enough to require any cardiac surgery. Yesterday I went for a stress test. I won't know the results until next week or so, but the nurse that was monitoring my heart during the test said that my EKG looked good. He knew I am also a nurse and work for the same company so he eased my mind some. I still tend to get very short of breath at times but think that the 40 years of smoking may be a contributing factor and may have caused me to become asthmatic. All in all, if that is the extent of my problem I can sure deal with that!!! To all those that have voiced concern and support, thanks guys YOU IS SOME X-TREME SUMMABEECHEZ! And for those that don't give a flying flip................. And I mean that in the nicest way!

Duff, Thanks for letting us know. I'm glad the nurse told you that from their perspective it looked ok. Hope the cardiologist agrees Adult onset asthma is on the rise for a huge variety of reasons. Interestingly in males of a certain age, if they complain about shortness of breath, COPD is often jumped to as the answer. Either way, glad you're not putting this stuff off. -Robert

-Robert I was scared to death so putting it off wasn't an option. Now I need to find a cardiologist that puts my health above whether he makes the money off of the diagnostics! I too am hoping the cardiologist doesn't find anything too bad after reading the stress test. - pacifichrono wrote:

| Duff, I remember you mentioning about the smoking, as well as not feeling 100% lately. I was concerned and worrying about that, but kind of thought it wasn't my place to pry. Usually, I don't want to bother people by PM. I honestly have to use all of my might and restrain myself from using them ! ..In any case, I'm VERY happy you stopped smoking. That alone will probably allow you to feel better in time. Hopefully, that, along with some good test results will make you feel alot better ! Half the problem with things like this, is the worrying. If we could just stop worrying, then things would be that much better. Then you or we would be able to focus on eating better, and living better. It's usually ALWAYS easier said than done, but we have to start somewhere I guess ! So keep up the good work sir and keep us posted on anything and everything ! ____________________________________ | |

You will be fine you old fart!Good old mitral valve prolapse, runs in my family and hasnt caused a bunch of trouble for me used to get a skipped heartbeat (or what felt like one) just the valve opening the wrong way! Only thing that is a must is massive dose of antibiotics couple hours before going to the dentist! Know it sounds funny but people can get sick and die if any of the decay settles in the heart! so every dentist trip i pop 2000mg of amoxicillen before the dentist!

hope things continue to get better for you Duff! i've lived with a heart condition my whole life, and after 3 surgeries and nearly 35 years i can say heart treatment is much better these days, you'll be just fine. juicing IS a good idea, but I can also recommend all kinds of ways to get antioxidants (and it fights glaucoma, makes you hungry, and makes cartoons absolutely fascinating! ) be well man, best wishes!

Duff, I'm glad to hear that so far all the tests are coming up OK for you. You know that you have me worried! The key is to quit smoking (easy for me to say since I can't even do that) and take care of the old body! Let us know the results of the stress test!
