| I saw the following post over at PMWF a few weeks ago. It was posted by Jittery Jim. "I came across this Zodiac out in the wild tonight More specifically I spotted it inside a case at our local Ross. I tried for a pic but the glass reflected too much of the floor for it to be decent. It's this model of the Oceanaire.
Asking price? $199. Was I tempted? Sure. Did I give in? Nope. :-) Still nice to see an automatic watch in Ross of all places, especially in this neck of the woods. We don't get many of them automatic watches up here in North Idaho."So.......I called the store to inquire about purchasing the watch. They don't allow any purchases over the phone. I got the SKU from them and called a number of my local Florida stores in the hopes they might have it in stock. No luck. I even called a number of stores in Albuquerque NM where I have family. No luck there either. After a week or so of pining after the watch, I called them and thought that maybe they could transfer the watch to my local Ross store. Again no luck. They won't do that either. So I PM'ed Jim over at PMWF and asked him a huge favor. I asked if he would go by the Ross and pick up the watch for me and ship it. He agreed to do so! I PayPal-ed him an amount to cover the taxes, fees and shipping. He shipped it Monday via USPS Priority. I am hoping it will arrive tomorrow. So now when it does get here my Oceanaire collection will contain all the versions I know about. Yellow Black Orange White blue |

| Very cool!
At one time I had yellow, orange, black, and blue dials.
Yellow Oceanaire was one of only two Zodiacs I kept!
Congrats on you own personal Team Oceanaire! ____________________________________

| Great bang for the buck...after Fossil bought the rights, they have been using Chinese disquised movements (now called Claro-Semag), I think.
Have you ever looked for pre-Fossil Zodiacs? Saw one on the Japan auctions, a chrono...looked really nice!

| WOW Hobbit!! That's indeed a very collection of Oceanaires, specifically the orange, blue, and the yellow are the one's that I loved the most. I think that the one that would get by tomorrow would be the best of them all. I really liked the strap of the watch, which made it really looks quite sporty. I think that should post a picture of the Oceanaires kept beside one another after you get the final one tomorrow. Just give it a thought... |
