Back a while, Rambam posted about
a beautiful vintage Omega he'd recently acquired, and as gorgeous as the watch is--and it truly is--I'm a twisted collector of old Chinese watches. The thing is, old Chinese watches were very often worn on textured nylon and/or textile straps, and up here in the northern Alberta boonies, such straps aren't easy to find. So when I saw the very cool textured strap on Rambam's wonderful Omega, I inquired about the
strap Rambam kindly offered to send me a couple and refused any sort of compensation. Very, very kind. Well, the straps arrived Friday and I finally had time to sit down and shoot a photo and a thank you!
My gratitude, Rambam
Here's a shot of one of the two great textured straps you sent on a Yinbei...a special strap on a special watch. Y'see, the Yinbei--which means "Silver Cup--was made by the
ZuanShi/Diamond Watch Factory, the makers of the SM1AK movement that was
10 times the "silver cup" winner (top prize) for China's best wristwatch.
So, this Yinbei runs the revered SM1AK...and, now, the revered Rambam strap!
