Just grabbed some pics off the net, this is the biggest city closest to me, Wilkes-Barre, PA, the town I live in is like 6 miles from here, and is relativley small, this is kinda like the capital of our valley if you will. The courhouse. bridge into Wilkes-Barre, kinda a landmark.

Damn near. We live in that triangle of trees just beyond. But my wife damn near lives there (12+ hours a day). Her office is next to the stage in upper right area of the Studios. I used to be there that much working on several different things over the years. Then for a while we (both my wife and I) were in the tall building middle left (half out of frame). NBC is the gray splotch just above that building, spent lots of time there, too. Mark's mothership (ABC/Disney) is just beyond that...

Best of all was walking to work. And that's all it is, it's work, just a job. We're not saving lives.

Tim, thats it! you found the 110 year old black walnut trees that line spreckels blvd! the trees have about an 80 year life span and it cost big bucks to keep these thing alive and well! Poor planning and newer trees were planted between them 6 years ago but should have been done 25 years earlier! Claus Spreckels was a German immgrant that build the worlds biggest sugar factory just left of this picture at the turn of the 20th century, the sugar was made from sugar beets and when things went to cane sugar they took a big hit! the town was built for employees and at one time had two banks a hotel and a whore house! Can read about it in some of steinbecks writings, he even worked there as a teenager! The town (county) we are not incorperated had no newer house's built until about 15 years ago, 8 cape cod bungalo's were built and i bought one of those, most of the town fought the project but they were built! After the big Quake of 1989 the factory had to be torn down (there where over a million german bricks imported to build it) and Tanimura & antle bought the property and now it's a produce cooler and facility but about 10 of the old building still stand as do the 4 or 5 huge sugar silo's! The town was never finished and the map from 1898 show one more block and it was in court the last 5 years to build out with 72 more homes, the builder won and they are almost complete, building the last few right behind me at this moment and they all had to look old fashion and pass the monterey county historical review board. with the new homes we might be up to 1000 people and are about 3 miles west of salinas heading toward monterey but a world apart and have the best little park you would ever find!! glad you found a pic i've been to lazy to go online and find one!

| Told you I've been through there, Trev. When I googled pics of the Valley, that was one of them, and I knew the road. BTW, why in the hell is this thread soooooooooo freakin' wide?
