Posted this over at WUS too, but figured this forum could use a post every now and then

I got my South Bend Pocket watch back from service and am very happy with the results! This is a South Bend, Model 1, Grade 407, 15 Jewel, nothing too fancy but a good looking watch just the same. Serial puts it about 1919-20....

Wow Gary !!! South Bend Pocket Watch Icon_eek South Bend Pocket Watch Icon_biggrin ..Is that something special or what ?! South Bend Pocket Watch Icon_cheers
Pocket watches are REALLY something else, and when you
see all of the hard work, and detail that went, or still goes
into them, it's amazing. The one you have looked NICE, but
NOW..it's GREAT !!!..You can enjoy all of the details, and
all of the decoration. The movement, the case, and dial
probably look as good, if not better than ever now !!!
It's pretty IMPRESSIVE, and stunning to see !..Congrats
on it turning out so well sir !..Keep ENJOYING this one !!!
Thanks for the EXCELLENT pics also !

Thanks guys! Since South Bend went out of business in 1929...you don't see 'as many' of these around as other watches, not that it's rare....I just don't see as many around.

Tom, you should pick one of these beauties up....not that expensive, I can just sit and listen to it tick and watch the works....

Beautifully refinished, its hard to believe that watch is pushing 90 years old. Congratulations-enjoy it for another 90.

Such a beautifully designed movement. Did they ever consider using open casebacks on these way back then?

The only ones I ever seen with a display back were display models for salemens and such....not an expert though.

Glad you guys like it!! South Bend Pocket Watch 933578
