Rolex Sub LV

Some of you have seen these elsewhere but I'll post them here for those that haven't.

I picked this up a couple months ago. With the new ceramic Subs coming out, the classic styles are discontinued. I figured it was now or never as prices for ceramics are another $1000 over the classics.

Perfection! Maxi dial, not the Maxi case! I'm an old school Rolex guy and like the old case, that watch is pure perfection Dan!

As Alan can attest, my collection has slowed down with getting some big hitters monetarily. Trying to keep my collection small and managable.

RIDICULOUSLY GOOD pictures of it also by the way. Didn't know
Rolex was discontinuing this like you said. The ceramic will probably
be excellent, but this REALLY is a classic like everyone is saying.
Just that dial, and bezel alone are enough to make you smile imho.
It's one of those watches that most people recognize, even if they
aren't actually into watches. For those of us who ENJOY watches,
this is a legend. Especially when you consider the influence a watch
like this has on the entire watch industry. The way companies do
different cases, bezels, markers etc. often has a similar feel or
theme to your Submariner here. It's really VERY COOL when
you stop and think how respected a watch like this is by dive
watch fans, as well as watch fans in general. There are alot of
great watches out there, but this is an original. One that probably
helped more than a few people get into watches, as well as inspiring
watch companies to make watches too ! In any case, congratulations
on having such a legendary watch !!!..I'm pretty sure you must be
ENJOYING it ! ..Thanks for ALL of those FANTASTIC pictures also !

Green is my favorite...great watch Dan!!

Tom, I think you nailed it. I'm won't say it's the absolute best dive watch but it is one that's respected and has deep roots. There are plenty of great dive watches being built these days, many with better specs than the Submariner.

In the end, there is something about having the iconic design, though. I am very happy with my purchase.

Nice, Max. When I ordered my GMT IIC, it was down to the GMT or the LV. Really cool watch.

Thanks - more than anything, when you walk out with a watch you only have to answer to yourself and I felt great walking out with this one on my wrist!
