Seiko 5 BABY Monster SNZF45K1 is here. This baby monster is BIGGER and badder then the Monster!

I always LOVED the Seiko Monster but was not happy with the size of the watch. So when I found out about the Baby Monster that was larger, but also had similar features to the other "monster" I had to have one.

I got VERY lucky and got one of these for only $65 in a late late night ending Ebay auction. I had to wait 3+ weeks for it to arrive from Hong Kong seller, but was completely worth it AND I got free shipping also. Watch was packed very nicely and bubble wrapped like most I have received from Hong Kong in the past.

This watch is pretty nice. Automatic, nice weight (not super heavy but also not light) and a good size on wrist. Interesting in the pictures you will see below how it feels large, but next to the Oris the bezel difference (Oris small bezel vs Seiko wide bezel) really makes the size look different. BUT when wearing it by itself without another watch next to it, it wears large and nice.

The LUM is stupid bright and I tried to get some pictures of it below. I would recommend this watch if you want a nice, large, day, date automatic Seiko BABY MONSTER. I am pretty happy with it and will size it tonight.

Very cool! I saw a writeup on them somewhere a bit ago, a nice addition to the Monster heritage!

Another great watch James. I like the baby monster more than the regular mainly due to size. Had the monster and due to the bezel, the dial really played small. Like yours A LOT! Love the white and black.

Killer pick up. I'm a sucker for white.


2 questions:
1. Does the bracelet have solid end links?
2. Does the 7S36 hand wind?

He has a good variety and had good communication throughout the transaction. The watch arrived safely as promised.

I will post pics of the bracelet and how it comes to the case when I get home BUT you could put another strap of band on it if you wanted to.

On the movement here is what I could find -

According to Seiko Corporation, the timekeeping accuracy of the 7S26/7S36 movement is +-15 s/day. It has been known that this movement typically runs fast for a few weeks when fresh from the factory sometime get as far as +45 to -35 s/day. Also it keeps better time when worn on the wrist all the time. The 7S26/7S36 movement is a non-hacking movement that cannot be manually wound. If you’re not wearing the watch for more than its 42 hour reserve, you’ll have to rotate it to keep it going or reset the date/time. The watch will "settle down" to a more reasonable accuracy level after being worn for a couple of months.

By the way, your pictures make it feel like I was actually
opening this watch up myself ! ..VERY NICE ! ..It's just
so great that you can get this much quality, and design
from Seiko. I mean with your comparison to your Oris,
the Seiko REALLY holds it's own I think. The look, the
size, as well as the quality seem to be on par with the
more expensive watches out there. The dial is EXCELLENT,
with the bright white, along with those very aggressive
hands, and unique markers ! ..You are bound to stare
at that dial ALOT !..Be careful ! ..Looking at the bezel,
there is a ton to like there as well. The flatness of the
top is terrific, but so are the wedges that are on the
sides. Also like the way those numbers are done there.
..Even the case, and the way it sits on your wrist could
not be better. It's shape, along with size is substantial,
and REALLY looks GOOD ! ..These bracelets have
quality written all over them too. The brushing, the links,
along with the way it extends from the case is something
to see imho. What a great clasp there also !..Last but
certainly not least is that movement. You get a stunning
view through that exhibition case-back, which shows
a REAL nice little gem there !!! ..I hope you ENJOY your
new Seiko James ! Congrats to you !!!

James, the white really pops!

From what I see, that is a nice improvement over the regular Monster in the looks dept.

Monsters will always be collected but this larger size could springboard them onto larger wrists.

What other colrs are available?

I have seen a bunch of other colors (dial colors, bezel colors, etc) available from the Ebay seller I posted above.

The only thing I would change is the bracelet. IT IS FINE but could be more substantial and better quality overall. It is not something anyone can see and it looks great when I am wearing it, but I know.

BUT, for what I paid it is a MAJOR steal.
