1956 Omega Bumper Seamaster Date

I picked this one up on my trip out west (someday I need to upload some photos from that), and I finally got a break to get a few photos. Just like the title says...1956 Omega Bumper Automatic Seamaster Date. A Bumper auto only has 180 dgrees or less of travel for the rotor and it hits a bumper at either end...cool feeling like a pin ball bumper. All the original paperwork and both inner and outer boxes were included. Watch is inscribed, and not in bad shape, these are all 'before pictures' so don't expect much. It seems to keep good time...so the internals should be in good shape. I will put up some new photos when I get it open and do some cleaning. It might be a while....

Thanks Doc!! It takes a lot of looking, this one came from a watch shop. I noticed a few used watches in the display case and started talking about some of mine...pretty soon we had 100 watches out on the counter. They had stuff like this just crammed in boxes in the back of the shop! They had about 20 more I wanted!!

The classy AND classic look of the dial with it's mix of
elegant markers, and small numbers is something to
see. So, is the texturing on the dial ! It's the perfect
addition to an already flawless watch. Those hands
show up REALLY well too, and you can appreciate the
no nonsense elegance theme that IS this Omega !
..That is a SUPER SMOOTH case there by the way also !
It shows you what a dress watch was, and is..supposed
to be ! ..Classy, cool, AND simple !!!! That crown is also
something that catches the eye. VERY understated, but
still a REAL nice addition to the look of this watch. Another
couple of neat additions are those lugs, along with this
bracelet here ! ..The lugs extend nicely to show off
a very very COOL bracelet. That texturing on the outside
part, along with polishing in the middle is FANTASTIC imo !
..I like the writing or inscription on the case-back as well

and certificates alone are enough to make you happy !
..Kind of gives you a picture of how watch companies did
things years ago. It's a watch, but it's also a small piece
of history as well ! ..It's fun to learn about watches like
this. For instance, never knew about the "Bumper" movement
there ! ..That is INCREDIBLE ! ..Thanks ! Congratulations on
getting your 1956 Omega !!! ..Keep on ENJOYING it !
