Hmmmm.....I wish I could hold out for the awesome watches Tom has, but I see a Bulova, Seiko, Zodiac or Caravelle I like and I just have to have it! Bulova, Dugena, Accutron, Rodania and Zodiac Icon_cool We both have our specialty and since you created a 'Vintage' forum I will keep buying and posting my humble finds. Honestly I like wearing a vintage Waltham or Seiko just as must as a vintage Rolex or any other top brand. I love seeing Toms finds more than you know!! There is no king here....just us jokers!! affraid. Thanks for the compliment though......... Bulova, Dugena, Accutron, Rodania and Zodiac 803574

This is just TOO much VINTAGE GOODNESS right here Gary !!!!! Bulova, Dugena, Accutron, Rodania and Zodiac Icon_cheers Bulova, Dugena, Accutron, Rodania and Zodiac 46145 Bulova, Dugena, Accutron, Rodania and Zodiac Icon_biggrin
You are reaching new levels of COOL watch collecting sir. Seeing these
watches is nice enough, however, seeing them all at once like this, in
one place is THE BEST ! ..Another thing..the condition of these watches
is MORE than a little impressive imho. For being as vintage as some of
them are, you have to smile when you see these. Bulova, Dugena, Accutron, Rodania and Zodiac Icon_smile ..Even if some of
them have some aging, it's neat because it really does add some unique
character to them imho. ..The hand winding Bulova up top seems to be
in A+ shape ! ..The case shape is pure perfection, as well as being REAL
classy. Those markers are insanely NICE with the way they seem to be
cut down the middle. You can even see the same theme on the numbers.
Both the 12, and 6 look like numbers I haven't seen before. Unique shape,
and look happening there !!! ..That dial, the case, and strap work almost
too well on that one. ..Not to be outdone though, your Dugena has a few
tricks up it's sleave as well. An EXTREMELY thin case, REALLY shows off
the dial on this watch. It has a texturing that again, I've honestly not seen
before. The hands are amazingly elegant, while the markers continue the
surprise of seeing something new. There seem to be small dots, or balls
at the end of each marker. Some pretty TERRIFIC detail !!!! Bulova, Dugena, Accutron, Rodania and Zodiac 803574 ..A super
NICE crystal, along with crown and strap finish this one off flawlessly as
well Gary. ..Now with the Zodiac ( Bulova, Dugena, Accutron, Rodania and Zodiac 933578), you hit yet another Home Run
imo. Just that case-shape alone is worth the price of admission ! ..You
can see some brushing in the finish too..wow !!! ..Some of the most
outstanding markers on a watch right there also. That angle in which
they are at, along with the height is something special. The lines going
up the middle of the markers, is also reflected onto the hands. Zodiac
did a TERRIFIC job on that one sir. That dial color, and strap color are
excellent by the way. ..Have to also say that your Rodania seems to
be off the charts. Like you are saying, these are evidently rare. This
one is literally brand new ! Bulova, Dugena, Accutron, Rodania and Zodiac Icon_eek ..That case, along with bezel shape is
something you don't really see to be honest. Same with the dial, and
all of the numbers. AMAZING !..The hands come close to stealing the
show with their unbelievably classic shapes. Although the second
hand looks like it could be from one of today's watches in my opinion.
The strap fits that watch incredibly well also ! ..Another winner !
..Your last watch here, the Accutron with it's hidden lugs is simply
stunning Gary. The case has a UFO look that is so impressive. I
guess the hidden lugs really contribute to that, but the case itself
is astonishing with the size, and look. Also don't see a crown on
there anywhere ! It's remarkable I think ! I think the numbers,
as well as hands on these give you a picture of the past, which
is extra nice, along with rewarding. Fantastic case-back, with
strap TOO ! Bulova, Dugena, Accutron, Rodania and Zodiac Icon_cheers ..You have outdone yourself this time Gary !
..Congrats on finding all of these, and most importantly keep
on ENJOYING them ! ..Extraordinary watches, AND pictures !!!

Thanks!! It's hard to plan a vintage watch purchase...you have to get them when they are available, usually you are never there again. I just happened to have a trip and a show with in a few weeks and got lucky on both. Wasn't trying to overload anybody... Razz

The watch is cool but the strap is unique. It's a one piece bund style with sewn in leather tabs for the watch. It has a flower or plant pattern. It is unreal comfortable!! It makes this piece even better IMHO. It even fits my fat wrists!!

Here is a side veiw of the lugs, since I already had a 214 in my RR collection this was the only reason I bought it....

Bulova, Dugena, Accutron, Rodania and Zodiac 100_9788

The round part on the back of the 214 Accutron is the 'crown', the handle flips up and pulls out slightly as it does to allow the watch to be set. here is a quote from the Accutron Place.....look here for more info on the 214 tuning fork mechanism and what makes it so cool.... Accuton 214

"There's no mistaking a 214 with any other watch ever made. The 214 is the only caliber that sets by lifting a spring loaded "C" shaped lever on the back of the case, and it's also the only Accutron that has a battery hatch on the back cover that unscrews to access the battery compartment. It was the first of its kind and collectors consider them to be "First Edition" Accutrons."
