My 'Grumpy Old Man' rant...

When I'm surfing for watches to buy, particularly in all the sales forums available to us, what I DON'T want to do is open a sale thread and find no photos. It pisses me off to find nothing there. Or, the seller has his photos on photobucket or whatever, but only provides a link to photobucket (which often is broken or doesn't work for some reason). He's too f%@king lazy to put the photos right in the sales post.

I refuse to do his work for him, and encourage you to do the same. I immediately use the back button, wishing I could also click a button to lay a burning paper bag of you-know-what on his doorstep and ring his doorbell.

This also goes for non-sales posts, like where a guy says "Check out my new watch!," but when you open the thread there's no photo, just a link to god-knows-where. If you're too lazy to put the photos(s) right in the thread, then I'm too lazy to follow your yellow brick road in hopes of someday seeing the watch you just ordered. The watch probably SUCKS anyway!

Agree completely. I also loathe posts that say "Only serious inquiries" - why would I inquire if I were not serious. Being serious does not mean I am committed to buying before you answer my questions you F. It means I am serious about buying a good watch, in the shape I want, at the price I think is right.

To some extent, I resent the threads that say "INCOMING" then dude tells about the watch that will be in by next week.

Next week comes and he says "it's here" photos by the weekend.

Weekend comes and the photos are crap.

Threee threads, nothing accomplished.

I'm not quite an old man yet but I feel the same way. No photos or even some crappy out of focus glare filled cell phone pic is a sign to move on for me. Even with crappy pics I wonder if they are trying to hide something.

want to see some pics, especially nice ones of a watch you might
be interested in. Believe it or not, I really haven't bought watches
from sales forums, other than here that is !

same as not putting the watch sold in the title so I don't open it to find the word sold in small letters way at the bottom

I also can't stand anyone who gives a price for the watch.....plus $XX for shipping....plus $XX for insurance......plus $XX if you pay with PayPal (to make up the 3%)..........

Figure out how much you want for the damn thing, shipped and insured...and post the friggin' price. I can't stand someone trying to nickel-and-dime me for a $500-$1000 watch......cheap pricks.
