Last night at my daughter's volleyball match, there was a gent sitting in front of me with a divers style watch, black bezel, three link bracelet, etc.

Of course, between plays, I'm looking and trying to ID what brand it is but for the life of me I couldn't.

For someone that has a more than general idea of what brands' styles look like, I was baffled.

The point of this thread isn't that I am asking anyone to ID it (I dont have a pic) but rather raise the topic about just how enormous the watch industry is for someone like me not to know what it is when I've probbaly seen thousands of divers on the web.

My guess is that it was an obscure Seiko that doc would ID from across the gym. cheers

Kind of pisses me off when I can't figure out what someone is wearing!!

What a super cool topic WP ! cheers ..It really is something how BIG the watch
industry is. There are always new brands appearing like Alan said, and then
there are ones that have been around that we're just discovering. I mean
there are literally countless watch brands, and models out there, both new
and old. So I totally understand what you are saying about the whole not
figuring out what someone is wearing thing ! Smile In fact it's been happening
more and more lately. Most times I can figure out what watches they are,
but have been stumped more than a few times lately. Sometimes it's in
public, and alot of times it could be seeing a watch on someone on TV, or
in a movie that stumps me. In any case, it IS pretty upsetting when these
stealthy watches end up defeating us like this ! lol!

It's like Clay Aiken - you know he's gay from day one....then he confirms it years later.

That's where I'm at - I'm up to my ass in Gs (oops, bad choice of words) but am I really a full-blown G aficiando?

Exactly. It's my suspicion it was a cheaper watch as the bracelet was of lower quality. Kind of looked like Ti but I think it was because of the low-grade steel.

WP, you are probably right ! Stumped! 803574 ..Alot of times when the watches are less expensive, and not
as high profile they are harder to identify ! ..I know most people would never know I was wearing
a Zodiac, and even if I told them, they still wouldn't know about them ! lol!

Chris, THAT is an AWESOME idea with taking pictures there sir ! ..VERY ingenius !!! Stumped! 46145 ..We'll
have to see if this becomes a new trend now. cheers
