Haunted House

Hey Guys, you all might remember a post I made about a month or so ago regarding "ABC's Extreme Makeover" in Salem. It was a project that involved building a dorm for the Oregon School for the Deaf and a Make-Over of their Haunted House ( which is a yearly fund-raiser that the school puts on). Well, last night we were there. My daughter had her 14th birthday party this past monday and last night we took her and 7 of her friends to the "MADE-OVER" haunted house which is actually called the "Nightmare Factory." Man 'O Man, let me tell you, it was a blast and it was also a "Scream-Fest" with 8 teenage girls, plus mom, me and my brother-in-law! Special effects from Disney and from Specialists in the field were all around and it was "GOOD!" Unfortunately, cameras were not allowed beyond the starting point, however, I did get some pics of our initial experience. If you want to see the show, it will be airing tomorrow, October 31st at 7pm west coast time. Check you local listings for ABC's Extreme Make-Over." My wife, daughter and I were at the very opening where the Design team initially surprises everyone. You just may see us with the celebs!

Nice...Halloween is my favorite time of the year. I use to own and operate a haunted house in Seaside heights, NJ called the Zombie Xtreme Haunted house. I have been to Salem many times and love it there. A friend of mine use to own Terror on the wharf and Boris korlofs witch museum. He now is a partner at spooky world. Thanks for sharing your story. I do miss owning my haunt...Nothing better then scaring the crap out of someone and getting paid to do it...lol

Hey Jack! Halloween is becoming very popular from decorating to celebrating. More and more people are getting in to it. BTW, Use to live in Bernardsville and had a place in Belmar next to Asbury Park and Spring Lake. All of our families are still in NY and NJ. Small world!

scary GOOD in this case !!! ..First of all, Happy Birthday to your
daughter sir ! Looks like it was a fantastic time for all of you
guys. What a nice event, and GREAT cause TOO ! You can see
that this haunted house is very impressive just from your pictures.
Have to hand to all of the people behind this, looks like they do
a PHENOMENAL job ! ..What a fun tradition !!! ..Thanks for telling

..Jack, that is INCREDIBLE that you owned a haunted house like that !
It's neat that your friends have been and are still running them as well.
..I was always scared of those things, when I was a kid to be honest !
Probably would be scared today as well. ..That is NEAT stuff !!!

Looks like fun John-I hope you had earplugs with a bunch of screaming teenage girls. I'm sure your daughter had a great time-any ringing of the ears today?

Very small world John. Thanks Tom much appreciated...Halloween is huge. I love it. Its in my blood. I know many Haunters in the biz and I miss it so much. I will own another haunt again some day. It will be bigger and better. I'm all about the blood and gore. If anyone is looking to go to a good haunt just go to hauntworld.com and search in your state. I also was a partner in a prop company. Halloween is a billion dollar industry and growing.
