| How could I resist this one found locally in Japan? Came with box and cards. Had crystal scratches on the AR top coating but found out generic silverware polish removed them after 15 minutes rubbing! I am keeping the ti bracelet on this one for a changeup haha! Just bought the Fisher Space Pen from ebay Iowa shop! | |

Yes, John, apparently...a quote from a tester.. The functional specs were attractive - big digital readouts; multiple functions and ones that would be particularly attractive to a pilot (one who actually drives planes!); a super loud alarm (I have slept with an alarm watch of one type or another for 30 years); glare-proofed sapphire crystal (actually very, very useful in the cockpit); Kevlar Originaly both sides were AR coated on the first Gen1 models, but I had read that Omega listened to testers and omitted the AR on the outside. But, some Gen2 models (like my second one) did come with AR coating on the outside.

| Cool! I was wondering about the polish you used and what type of crystal it was. Glad it was sapphire! | |

| This one is DEFINITELY hard to resist Thian ! ..Can see why you picked this one up sir. First of all, it's an Omega, but it's not your average Omega. This one shows off a different kind of personality imho. Just looking at the digital read out shows that this Omega is genuinely..Out of this World ! It does not look like other ani-digi watches that I can think of. You have nearly the entire center part of the dial, which is digital, and man oh man is it COOL ! It's interesting also how the digital day and date is actually going vertical on each side like that. Most times when we see digital read outs they are parallel to eachother. However, this Omega seems to take things up into the stratosphere with the way it looks. It's VERY different, and it works very very well with the whole sci-fi space exploration feel of the watch. Also don't think Omega could have made those hands any cooler. The hour hand is HUGE, and keeps that unique extra terrestrial theme going too. The minute hand even looks great with how it comes to that sharpened point. Add to that, the plane at the tip of the second hand, and youhave yet another other worldly feature ! Could just stare at that part of the watch for a long long time to be honest. Still, there are many other things to enjoy about this one. That nice and wide chapter ring is a GREAT feature for a few reasons. It IS thick, which makes for a neat effect with the digital readout. However, the BIG markers and how they seem to extend right into the side walls of the ring are EXCELLENT as well. Also like how the other hash marks on the sides look, and they help the dial seem very deep as a result. ..Even those dots at 12 o'clock look amazing ! ..Must also add that the bezel is PHENOMENAL as well Thian !!! Those markers, the number look, neat lume pip, along with NICE outer edge is TOO GOOD. It stands out from the crowd imho. As does the case-shape, and especially pushers, which seem to almost make for a space ship, or UFO shape ! ..Pretty INCREDIBLE ! ..This watch has so much to offer, and isn't afraid to be different. Even the Titanium finish, along with TERRIFIC looking bracelet take things to a whole different level ! ..This is SOME KIND of watch Thian !!! ..What A pen there also ! ..Congratulations on finding this one ! It will look great in your collection ! ..Enjoy !!! Really NICE watch and photo ! ____________________________________ | |

| Subject: John, it is a old generic Japanese metal polish I found in Mon Nov 01, 2010 1:38 am | |
| the local mall store called PIKAL, used for silverware. I had read guys used Polywatch, toothpaste etc., Cape Cod cloth etc...... So, being an Omega, I thought I'd have to send it in to Omega, Osaka. So I began polishing the tarnish ti case and bracelet....and did the crystal too (done to other crystals in my watch collection without harm)... And after a few minutes while watching a TV movie, the tiny scratches disappeared ! I had thought the top surface on the Gen2 models did not have the AR coating, as I had read. But some Omega posters thought that the Gen2s did have the AR coating, which apparently is easy to rid of by polish.
Tom: thanks for the appreciation of the dial etc......indeed every detail was researched out and tested by astronauts and aviators! The circular digital readouts are legible even when the wrist is angled. One pilot liked this feature, allowing him not to have to remove his hand from the plane yoke! Not widely read or known is the fact that one can wear polaroid sunglasses and still read the dial! ...a very cool feature!!
The SS pushers were finally thus designed for glove use, instead of the normal round, smaller pusher style! Same for the Gen2 newer style crown. Since all multifunctions are activated by pushing the crown in to scroll, then pulling the crown out to change hours , for instance, Omega changed the crown design for better, easier gripping.
The bezel design was the most often negative comment from consumer posters, but as a diver watch buyer, the bidirectional bezel style suited me fine.

| No problem Thian ! ..Thank YOU for all of the additional information along with insight into this Omega ! ..That is AMAZING how you can actually read the dial with those sunglasses on like you mentioned also !!! ..Really IS a cool feature ! ____________________________________ | |

| Honestly, I never really was that interested in the X-33 until I saw one in the flesh. Just a really cool watch with probably the loudest alarm I think I've ever heard. Incredibly light, too. I only wish it was water resistant to at least 100 meters. Congrats. I'd love to pick one of those up, some day. | |

Yes , the X-33 is sorta an oddball Omega model...their only really tool watch as such....made for NASA astronauts and aviators....some hate the design and others love it haha! The 30m rating has been been criticized...yes...but for me that is not a problem since I don't dive nor get my watches wet haha! I just love the provenance, and design dial, very readable hands and 41mm size for my 6.5 inch wrist haha!
