Alan, looks like Mark hit it out of the park with the Tissots !
They are just right for you in style, size, and quality. Plus there
are more than a few different versions to choose from !
Even the Seiko would work amazingly well !

Have been looking, and am finding some that might be a little
busy in the dial area though.

Ok, Certainly NOT for everyone...

But a pretty unique and fairly well executed take on the concept. I like most things about them - course there are some things I don't (no chrono, dumb world time date, green WB accents). Still, I own 3. Movement is the same in all three. Favorite feature is self-adjusting hands.

Double Check that ESQ - looks like the same movement as the Renatos
No chrono or countdown timer, dumb date doesn't know when it's a day ahead overseas.

Not SS but titanium and not under $1000, but can be found for around $1500+......Omega used Gen1 is the best ana-digi in my book. All depends on what you really need, like and pocket book! haha! I have 2 Gen2 versions with improved crown and all brushed casing. The digital readouts are circular and viewable when the hand is angled! Every aspect has a purpose for astronauts/US Aviators who were consulted and had tested this unique watch.
Yes, the Gen1s had their problems and got bad public press; but, once fixed, they are excellent watches!
Most digi parts on watches are affected by polaroid sunglasses, but Omega X-33s are NOT!
If you are on a real budget, the Casio AMW series is the best bang/for/buck watch IMO, selling for way under $100.00usd. The vintage Seiko Arnies H558s are just way out of price line nowadays!

Amazon has a sweet TAG for 975.00, its 1800.00 at world of watches! 43mm and in Amazons stock not one of its vendors! Great price for an aquaracer!!!

No second hand on the VSA. Also, I personally don't like the hands that ARE there. Too much like the Tissot T-Touch.
