Content?

I think I am finally PRETTY content with my collection as it sits...

With my "watch fund" I have decided to buy either a new Plasma TV or HUGE monitor for my PC gaming...

I have to admit, it's pretty cool NOT searching the forums everyday lately looking for a new watch...

Have you ever gotten to that place in your collection?

I have a handful that get no wrist time that I would like to weed out. But I hate the selling game.

I actually have a few I want, but I no longer look at daily deals, or even sales forums. Cash is currently going to a few other things as I slowly pair down the collection. I will do some serious watch shopping over Thanksgiving, I will buy something......Who knows what?

Guess my answer would be half and half ! ..On the one hand, I REALLY enjoy the watches
I have. On the other, I REALLY enjoy looking at the watches that are out there. So maybe
I should change my answer to Yes ! ..A while back, I always thought it was important to
get watches because at some point they would all be gone, or at least the one I liked would
sell out, and be hard to get. Now, it's more about learning, looking, and once in a while buying
a watch that I like. This way you can enjoy this hobby more, feel more content about your
collection, and even enjoy other things in life like a TV or computer monitor for example !

Who knows when this might change though !

i hope i never get content with my watch collecting. if i do, well than thats it!!!! i have watches that i will never get rid of and a lot that i want to get rid of and i still want some new ones. 2010 was a big change for me, ive sold 10-15 watches and bought 5 or 6 new ones. in the end i would like to have 4-6 watches that all get the same amount of wrist time. soon as i recover from the last group of watches that i sold(i hate selling its a pain in the ass) i have several that will be going up on the block and hopefuly make enough to pick up my next. steve

I have sold a bunch of........ well you know, to pay for my micro brand collection and buy my wife a watch she wanted for Christmas.

I'm happy with what I have.
I was happy with what I had.
I'll be happy with what I will have.

That about covers it.

ive heard all this BS before, even by me and then go and pull three right out of my..... computer, well one was a fax deal becasue its just the way they roll! Anyway 3 newbies and not much left to sell! You know my policy for every dollar coming in on new watch that much needs to be going out on sold watches... sad to say but it didnt happen this go-around but i'm DONE for now;-)

Steve maybe i sell too cheap but i have no problems on WUS, they will sale in 10 minutes most of the time and a doxa i had didnt even make it to a listing and sold!!!

i didnt know you got rid of your doxa? i sell some watches there, but i had a shit load of invictas!!! and nobody on any of the watch forums wants to give you shit for them. so i ended up selling a few on e-bay i did great on the sea vultures but took a big hit on the san 3s but i have to say 1 oris and 4 invictas = 1 bad ass seawolf!!!!

I'm content, at the moment. However, if a Seiko MM300 or an older titanium Aquatimer pops up for sale, I would probably scramble to try and pick up one of those bad boys...

Each week in this hobby brings new understanding, desire and opportunities for more watches. A never ending spiral.

Like smellody, I too hate the selling game and instead opt to give the undesirables to Goodwill for resale charity every year.

2010 represented a drastic course correction in my collection and now I work to continue that new directive. Problem is, those pieces are way more expensive and often illusive. There are just too many watches and too little time and money.

So it's gonna be awhile.

Hell No! Don't know if I ever will get to where I want to be because I Don't Know where I want to be. This is the "SICKNESS"

I am close to that point. I wish I could sell about a dozen that don't get any wrist but I too hate going thru all the sales crap.

Then I would get my 2 grails. My Oris small seconds and my Breitling Seawolf.

Then I would be done...................I think.
