| I was watching the minutes and seconds count down on this auction. My pre-programmed eSnipe bid was looking better and better as the clock wore down. At T-minus five seconds...BAM! eSnipe slammed my bid home with $138 to spare! I am now the proud owner of this 1968 Bulova Astronaut with the original cal. 214 tuning fork movement. As some of you may know, NASA used the Accutron tuning fork movement in its on-board spacecraft instruments for 46 missions, including the Apollo moon missions. An Accutron movement still rests on the Sea of Tranquility on the Moon. So, this is perhaps the quintessential Accutron...the "Astronaut." The added bonus is this watch is equipped with the famed Accutron/JB Champion "Bullet" bracelet, which I have seen sell for as much as I just paid for this watch AND bracelet!      | |

The sad thing is they took this legendary watch known for its astounding accuracy ( Accuracy through elec tronics) and installed a mechanical/automatic movement in it. Heresy!  | |
