Your second arrival here John is something to behold sir !
Have to say
this Stowa is without a doubt SUPER ! Think it's going fit in just right with your first Stowa,
and make your collection that much cooler also.
What makes this particular watch here
so neat is the fact that it has a tried, and true CLASSIC look. It's actually very reminiscent
of the one Ron just created. You can see many of the same qualities on the dial, case, and
even movement. For instance the way the hands have that vintage shape that hypnotizes
you with it's elegant size, and detail. REALLY enjoy how the the ends look on those. They
bring you back to the old times, but at the very same time look as if they are updated with
all of todays technological perfection. Not to be outdone, the Roman Numerals allow this
Stowa to become even more attractive. Each line, of each number stands out because of
it's delicate look, but also because of the way in which they capture this historical style
so well. You can't help but become fascinated with how much effort, and care Stowa
puts into there watches. I had seen these watches a few years back, but never had
the chance to see just how GREAT they actually were. Until people like Mark, and yourself
began showing their watches here.
What's so intriguing about them, is that they have
the ability to make a wide variety of AMAZING quality watches. From elegant classics like
this here, to full fledged dive watches. It's pretty remarkable in my opinion. Going back to
dial for just a second, it's ALWAYS cool to see those railroad track-like rings on the outer
part of these classic dials. It's just a neat way to have the markers. Plus it adds to the
feel of the dial, along with watch style as a whole. Same can be said for the sub-dials on
this watch. Again it kind of reminds me of Ron's recent build, and you can see the excellent
detail in the texturing, as well as intricate hand. ..Once you move past the dial, to the case,
you start to understand that this watch is the real deal. Again it's the care in my opinion,
that is put into the details that makes a watch special. It's not your ordinary watch, it's
an extraordinary watch that has genuine character in every single piece, and part of the
watch. You can see it in the fit, and finish of the case here with it's smooth surface. There
aren't going to be too many imperfections in a watch like this I don't think.
Plus it just
looks FANTASTIC ! ..Even this crown here has that look, along with feel that it should have.
Then when you turn this watch over to the other side it's something to see all of the etching
on the outside of the case. Everything from "Stowa" to "Marine Original" is on there. Even
the "Made in Germany" stamp is on there. COOL ! ..However, that's just the outside of the
case. When you notice what it's surrounding you can hardly believe it. The 6498 movement
has SO much detail, and SO much beauty, that it's hard to take your eyes off of it. Love
the
blued screws, along with red, not to mention all of the different views of the inside ofthe movement. That gets a Yowza ! ..The final piece to this one is the superior looking
strap, with it's textured leather, and super stitching, which completes this SUPER Stowa !
Congratulations on your second of 2011 John ! ..As always..Enjoy !!!
Super watch, along with photos here !
