Went to see The Mechanic

Decided to go to the Movies this past Sunday to see The Mechanic. Felt like seeing
a good action movie, and this one delivered in my opinion. The movie is about
an assassin that is hired to take out a variety of nafarious individuals. Jason Statham
is the assassin who also takes on an apprentice during the movie to teach him the
tricks of the trade. There are a few twists, and turns, and the action is spread out
thoughout the movie. It's a pretty dark film, but it is about assassins, so the way
the characters are in the film reflect that darkness. All in all, the movie had an old
school action movie feel, with some new school edge. Also just found out that
there was also an original "The Mechanic" which starred Charles Bronson. Never knew
that before, but will probably have to check that one out as well.

Great review. Can't wait to see it on your recommendation.

Ok that and the fact that my wife will see anything thing with the Statham in it.

Thanks guys ! ..Remember though, it's pretty dark, and there is a good amount of
violence in it. However, if you like action movies you will probably like this one !

P.S. Forgot to mention there were a few watches in the movie as well. The first was an Audemars
Piguet Royal Oak of some kind I think. There was a second that I couldn't quite make out what it
was at the bottom of a pool, and the third was a Panerai !

Yeah, Bronson was The Shit back in the day - Not sure how it's gonna hold up today.
Been ages since I saw the original True Grit.

Been ages since I saw the original True Grit.

Guess it's hard to beat an original in most cases Jaw. I'm sure both original versions
of The Mechanic, and True Grit hold up very well. However, they might seem alot
different than the newer versions I guess.

Saw it today - Liked it.
Quite dark like you said Tom, and not for kids.
Some of the stunts/kills had me grippin my chair.
Well done but kinda predictable.
Good gratuitous shoot-em-up though.

Oh cool Sir ! Definitely some entertaining stunts in the movie, along with a real dark side.
Not for kids like you said. ..I wanted one of the characters to return at the end, but he
didn't. Thought that would have been cool imho. In any case, I'm glad you liked it Jaw !
By the way, those trailers you show there are GREAT ! Just like with watches, you have
EXCELLENT taste in movies.

Just saw "The Mechanic" this afternoon.

Outstanding! I love Jason Statham - - the new breed of action star. The other guy, Ben Foster, was also excellent.

If you're into action films, this is a must see.
