Is It Just Me Or ??

Is it just me, or do all the watch forums seem to be boaring as hell any more?? I look at 3-4 forums daily and other than (on the wrist, or look at my new watch) Thats all i seem to see. Maybe its just me, i might be getting burnt out? All as i know is if i cant sleep i just have to check out a couple watch forums and

things go in cycles....several of my forum members are going through the same mood...it all seems boring and redundant....same for me too after 8 years of WISdom haha! I even tried paring down to 10 watches...no way! haha!
The new generation of watch lovers are kinda newbies IMO ...so their postings and photos all seem boring to us who have 'been there...done it'......
But....'this too shall pass'...as the good book says hahahaha! I think you will rediscover your love of watches!

You have a good collection...

You've been through the "do you like this or that" stage...

You have NO interest in discussing TV brands and who does or does not sell them...

Even owning this forum, I only pop in once or twice a day to see what is going on...

I mean once you have a Breitling Seawolf, what else do you really need right dude?

LOL !! Yeah Alan, the seawolf is a hard one to beat. I still have a lot of watches i want to sell, but i cant even get motivated to list them. I think once i do i might just save the money because there isnt anything out there that i realy want. ive been looking at some UTS watches but not even sure if i want one of them? Its just another dive watch. Well i hope it passes but right now i like what i have and dont see the need to buy anything else. Steve

Sold a BUNCH, built a mac-daddy PC and still have quite a bit left in Paypal!

Think it might have to do with the cycles that Thian is talking about, as well as the stages that
Alan is mentioning Steve. Seems like forums, and the members at them go through different
cycles at different times of the year. ..Spring into Summer for instance is always a time when
people start getting into other things. Whether it's getting outside, going places, or just doing
different things. Then you have the stages that Alan mentioned, which is probably more of
what you are feeling. ..Basically you have been where others are still trying to go with their
collection, and you have become pretty content with where you are it seems. Add to that,
the many different forums you visit every day, along with looking at the various different
watches all of the time, and it's pretty natural that you might feel burnt out. The only thing
that I can think of to help you out is maybe to change things up. Maybe just sit back, relax,
and enjoy the hobby, and don't worry about that next watch. Allow yourself to recharge your
batteries with the hobby, and eventually, or hopefully, this will allow you to have more fun
sir.

Yeah, I don't know what it is but my interest in discussing watches has been waning. I still buy and sell vintage watches on eBay, but other than that, I'm feeling bored. XMT is one of my "home" forums but I just haven't been checking in very often, or when I do visit a few forums I rarely even open any threads.

all you need a a good rest and break from watches haha! a case of ODing on watches IMO! we all go through it, even veterans of watch collecting! I have seen this on the Seiko forums...several veterans have now come back after some years and found a renewed interest in their collections. All it takes is one watch to re-ignite your love of horology!

Definitely a drop off in participation....been spending a lot of time working on projects and mods, not much buying at all. Things run their course, wax and wane...

I signed up because I thought this was where all the action was!
