OK…maybe I do now drunken

I have wanted to try out a Doxa for a while now, but other watches always seemed to get in the way. This came up for sale the other day, so I decided to take a shot.

I don't get Doxa? DSC09464

For those of you unfamiliar with Doxa, this is Doxa 1200T Searambler (60 of 1200). It came packaged in the Doxa tube along with the other stuff. The specs on the watch are as follows:

• Swiss Made Very Happy
• Stainless steel (316L) case with helium release valve
• Case Diameter: 42.7mm (44.6 including crown)
• Case Length: 44.5mm
• Weight: 162g
• ETA 2824-2, decorated automatic movement (42 hour power reserve)
• Silver dial with sunray pattern (27mm)
• Unidirectional rotating bezel engraved with US navy non-decompression table (120 clicks). Superluminova filled pip.
• Domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inside
• 20mm Stainless steel “beads of rice” bracelet with fold-over locking clasp and divers extension
• “Sub Hands” - Black hour, orange minute and black second (before you ask…yes). Superluminova filled.
• 1200m/3937ft water resistance
• Incabloc anti-shock protection

Here are a few more photos, including a couple size comparison photos.

Comparison to my Omega PO (42mm) and Tudor Heritage (43mm):

Initial thoughts were that it may be too small. But after wearing it for a couple of hours, it is just the right size for me. The quality seems very good and the design is very unique. It has a good chance of staying with me…but that is always up for debate in my crazy head!

Hey Mark, VERY VERY NICE !! like you i have always wanted a doxa and something else alway's got in the way of that purchase, im glad to see you finally got yours. i realy like the over all look of this one and the silver dial is awesome, i know that doxa has some kick ass lume so if you can post up some lume shots that would be great. One thing i alway's worried about is due to the shape of the case is the dial itself to small? congrats and enjoy this one mark, Its one great divers watch!!!! Steve

Oh nice Mark, REAL NICE ! Very Happy Very Happy Looks like this Doxa was well worth the wait !
Looks like it has all of the quality, and craftsmanship you could ask for with the
way the watch is put together, and finished. Then the look of it is legendary with
the style of the case, bezel, dial, and of course beads of rice bracelet. I don't get Doxa? 803574 Really has
a look, and feel about it that stands up against other great watches like you are
showing us here, and even stands the test of time as a modern day classic too.
Congratulations to you on finally picking one up ! ..Genuinely have to hand it to
Doxa, because they always seem to make you smile with their watches. Every
one has this distinct, iconic feel about it that helps to connect them with past
Doxas, but also to still be these very unique watches today. ..I know there are
a lot of watches today that probably take different design ques from Doxas both
past, and present, but it's hard to beat the original ! Smile Just take the bezels for
instance on your new watch Mark ! It's great on so many levels. First you have
the edge of it with that legendary saw tooth style which lets you know that this
is the real deal. A watch that doesn't do things the same way as other watches,
or watch companies, but rather stands out, and becomes EXTRAORDINARY ! The
saw tooth bezel's edge is just one example imho. The rest of the bezel is pretty
amazing as well though with it's inner, and outer sections bringing some very very
nice looking numbers, and markings together. The contrast of the orange, black,
and silver is exceptional. Also enjoy how the hash marks kind of carry right over
on to the dial as well. ..It's just a neat idea, and helps to make the watch that
much more easy on the eyes. cyclops Same thing goes for those unique dual lume
pips right next to eachother. Wow, THAT's great TOO, and the dial itself brings
all of what you liked about past Doxas into view as well with that rectangular
marker style, and hand style. ..Just can't get enough of those two elements !
Actually can't get enough of the entire watch to tell the truth. Even the second
hand with it's lume block at the end of it, along with cross hair like markings on
the dial are extraordinary. All of those aspects are so unique, and make the watch
more exceptional I think. Can't forget about this case-shape either. The manner
in which it combines different shapes together is amazing. From the top view,
you can genuinely appreciate the distinct shapes, curves, and brushing. From
the side you can REALLY enjoy the slope of the case, as well as the seemless
way it flows together. Even the way the case actually becomes the lugs, and
blends in with that bracelet is amazing. Staying with that bracelet is alot of fun
also. Just the whole beads of rice theme by itself not only looks FANTASTIC,
but also shows just how distinct, legendary, and EXTRAORDINARY your new
Doxa is Mark. ..Congrats once again, and keep enjoying this one !

Extraordinary watch, and pictures !

I don't get them either but I have questionable taste anyway. A lot of people who know their watches seem to love them so that makes me wonder if I'm missing the boat.
