Hi! My I'm Brian and new to the watch game!

I always viewed a watch as "a piece of jewelry with a function" besides looking good, but never really got into it because of the price of the "big" names, Movado, Rolex, Tag Huer, etc.

I got introduced to (almost hate to say it Laughing ) "Invicta" by a friend who touts them as a decent watch for the price. And I like the oversized designs (stolen or not) and some of the complcations. I'm one where once I choose a hobby I go "all in" and want to know everything that I can (fanatic??) and want items of the best quality, like any true hobbist.

While looking for information on the different "movements" I ran across this and a few other sites that have nothing good to say about Invicta!! So hopefully you good folks will help me in my quest to learn all that I can about the fabulous timepieces and their makers that we choose to collect.

I look forward to seeing the fine pieces that you folks have and learn enough to participate and educate someone like myself some day! Any information that you folks choose to share will be greatly appreciated. sunny

Welcome to xmt Brian, There are a lot of us who started with Invictas but learned quickly what they were all about. The only good thing about invicta IMO is it has got a lot of us in too collecting. There is a lot you can learn from the members here, most of them are vettrans at watch colecting, But you will have to ask the questions you want answered. There are a lot of great brands out there to collect that wont break the bank and you dont alway's have to go with the big name brands. Steve

Welcome!! If you like Invictas, that's OK by me....I have had some killer Invictas that I liked a lot...I still have one I just don't want to sell. They have stuff in all price ranges but if you play at the low end you won't get hurt....if you by the expensive stuff you will find resale is not as good as some of the other brands in that price range. Anyway enjoy the forum and post up in the daily wear thread!!

Hi Brian ! Smile Really is nice to have you here with us
at XMT. Thanks for finding us, as well as joining up.
It's terrific hearing how you became interested in
watches, as well as how much you enjoy the hobby
as a whole. Hopefully we can teach eachother about
all of the great watches that are out there, and have
fun doing it too. ..Looking forward to seeing your
Invictas, as well as reading your posts. Enjoy !
