Launching of a new Hamilton Khaki Navy Pioneer Limited Edition and redesigned Hamilton Intra-Matic watches seams like the perfect way for commemorating the brand’s 120th anniversary.

Since the 40th Baselworld Watch and Jewellery Show is just around the corner, it is the perfect time for taking the first look at some interesting novelties that are expected to be discovered in Basel, from March 8 to March 15, 2012. Recalling the years of the successful partnership with the US Navy, the renowned watchmaker, Hamilton, created a new Khaki Navy Pioneer in the Limited Series of 1892 pieces, which implies the year of the company’s foundation. These beautiful reinterpretations of marine chronometers, which were developed in the 1940’s as important tools for calculating longitudes and precise locations, can be used as stylish wrist watches, as well as table clocks. In the first case, it can be worn with a stylish, light-brown leather strap. Housed in the Para rubber tree wood box that comes with the watch, Hamilton Khaki Navy Pioneer becomes a wonderful table clock.

Designed in the authentic vintage style, this watch strongly reminds of the brand’s past. Its robust, round case with a coin edge is made of stainless steel, with the diameter of 46.5 mm. Featuring beautifully shaped, blue hour and minute hands, a striking, old-fashioned dial with the minute track in the railroad style is simple and highly legible. A small second sub-dial takes the 6 o’clock position. Printed Arabic numerals that indicate hours are located inside the minute track, while numerals that indicate minutes run inside the outer rim.

Hamilton Khaki Navy Pioneer watch is powered with a Unitas 6498 hand-winding movement. This great vintage timepiece will be available for around $3000 US.

Another Hamilton’s novelty that comes in the vintage style is a new Intra-Matic timepiece, inspired with the 1960’s model under the same name. This ultra-slim model with the thickness of just 7 mm is made either of stainless steel or gold PVD plating. It is available in two case sizes: 38 and 42 mm. Each version comes with a black leather strap. Inside the case of Hamilton Intra-Matic watch, there is an iconic ETA 2892 self-winding movement.

These are SO neat Ron ! ..Always like it when watch companies think about, and remember
their history like this. It's something special imho, and is nice to see Hamilton do. I REALLY like
the Pioneer with it's dial, and case style. The bezel, together with that wide chapter ring make
for a cool combination. Can't say enough about the number, and hands on this one either. Or
the movement ! The table clock idea is FANTASTIC too !!! ..That Intra-Matic couldn't be nicer
either with it's super slim case, retro dial, and hands. The way the steel of the dial is brushed is
very nice, and it helps you enjoy those elongated markers, along with all of other details on the
dial like the way Hamilton is written, that "H" emblem, or even the date window. Wow! Hamilton

I like the look of the Pioneer a lot. It looks like something Ron would put together. Classic in its simple and clean design from the minimal dial to the furnace blued hands.
