New upgrades

picked up some new hands while Chris and I got parts for his Hamilton project. Decided to take off the OEM black hands and switch them with this blue set. What I wanted is the needle point tips, long enough to work with this dial to extend to the outer minute ring.
While doing this I switched the movement to this higher grade 6498-1, the finish is excellent.
The hands are from Otto Frei, the movement I got out of Belgium









Also picked up this gold plated 6498 from Switzerland to replace the Hamilton I sold to Chris

WOW Ron! They all look incredible!!!!

The blue hands really works well on that dial. Cool that our watches are similiar and yet both very unique. The original pocket watch Montgomery dial would have the blued hands.

As for the movements, the look awesome. Incredible finish on both of them. Having seen them in person, they are a definate cut above the regular 6498's.

It's unbelievable how you are able to do all of this like this Ron. I mean
not only are you building your own watches, but now you are taking
out hands, putting new ones in, removing, and putting in the different
movements with ease. ..Really is something to see imho. Most of
the time people can change a strap, or maybe bracelet, but you are
basically taking customizing a watch to a whole different level here
with all of this. Your decision of trying out these needle nose blue hands
was a REALLY good one ! Not only do they extend far out to the edge
of the dial like you had wanted, but they look AWESOME both with
the color, and the style. There is just something about how they look
against the dial, as well as work with all of the different numbers, and
markers. Even the blue, and how it plays off the red, white, and black
is excellent ! ..While the movement from Belgium matches the dials
beauty, and then mesmerizes you with all of IT'S detailed decoration,
and attention to that detail. Yowza ! What an AWESOME job with all
of this Ron, and will just add that it's VERY cool to see the gold plated
6498 there as well ! Holy COW ! Congratulations on all of this ! Great
stuff ! ..Keep enjoying !
