Something New From The Old Country Empty
PostSubject: Something New From The Old Country   Something New From The Old Country Icon_minitimeMon Jul 30, 2012 6:25 pm

A group of guys in Poland have joined together and resurrected the G. Gerlach watch company. I read about them first on another watch forum, and as I am of Polish ancestry I knew I had to try one of their offerings.

The ORP Sokol is the namesake of a WWII Polish submarine that, along with the ORP Dzik were nicknamed the "Terrible Twins".

It looks great, fits great, and is reasonably priced. It probably wont be my last watch from the "Old Country". Something New From The Old Country 803574

The specifications are as follows:

Specification:

Automatic movement SeaGull ST 2551 with hacking and handwinding
Power reserve: 45h
Frequency: 21.600 bps
Stainless steels case 316L
Case diameter: 42mm
High: 15mm
Lug to lug: 55mm
Water Resistant 200m
Sapphire crystal
Luminous Hands and Markers
Genuine leather strap 22mm, steel buckle
Wooden watchcase

Yowza Rick, THIS is NICE ! Very Happy Very Happy Such a cool design, and history behind
both the company, and you sir. Neat stuff ! Thank you !!! Something New From The Old Country 803574 ..Have to
congratulate you on yet another TERRIFIC find here. So many times we
look around for a watch that will be new, and different. Something that
stands out, but still has a look that can be just as timeless as it is unique.
..This is that kind of a watch. What's amazing is how G. Gerlach seems to
have blended great looks, with great quality. The list of the specifications,
and also your pictures show that this watch does everything well. Take
the bezel for example, and how it first impresses you with it's knock out
looks. The style, the numbers, markers, and even brushing is out of this
world. However, you can also see that great care has also been taken to
perfect those details, and have the fit, and finish be top notch. As a result
each part of the watch flows REALLY well. From this bezel, to the unbelievably
nice dial, and all of it's remarkable markings, and hands, to the case with
it's terrific lugs, and case-back decoration. Something New From The Old Country 46145 This watch has everything,
and MORE ! Congratulations Rick ! ENJOY !

Terrific watch ! ..Terrific pictures !
