| What is going to be the next big, or small thing/trend for 2013 with watches?
What would you like to see within the hobby, or even watch industry?

| Well, for one thing, solar watches are becoming more popular, at least with the Seiko crowd. In the past Citizen has produced its Eco-drive watches. Seiko has now joined the eco-friendly movement big time. It also dropped its entry level prices and is promoting more in N. America. Does this move remind anyone of Seiko's quartz watch venture in the 80's?? | |

| I would like to see a trend toward a smaller size.........39-43mm. I would also like to see an attempt by the various watch companies to focus in on designing a thinner movement especially for complications. I am sick of seeing the super sized case widths and the super sized case heights. No one can wear these watches for anything except as an accessory for weight lifting or as a weapon in self defense. | |

| Citizen (I think anyway) says gold cases are coming back, I have seen several articles that say the same thing. Not just in China but in North America as well. I haven't seen this trend show up on the forums yet . Also watches are coming back for the the younger crowd....I see more and more of the cell phone generation with a watch on. ____________________________________ Later, GaryRemember we are the caretakers of mechanical art..... | Wow guys, REALLY interesting, and cool stuff ! Thian, think you are definitely right about solar watches. Will be really interesting to see if those entry level watch prices keep coming down more this year also sir. John, will be fun to see those thinner movements, along with smaller cases that you mention. I hope they do this because it seems like a lot of people are ready for it. Gary, that gold case trend sounds really intriguing. I know the bronze ones have become popular in the last year. They are kind of gold. ..Would love to see younger people appreciating watches more also. ____________________________________ | |
