Where's our Watch TV ?

Anyone ever wonder why there hasn't been a Watch channel on TV ? I mean there are countless channels ,especially on cable and satellite, but none of them ever dedicated to watches or horology. With all of the people who enjoy watches out there, there must be a demand for such a channel or network. For example, look at the infinite number of watch and horology reources on the web. Manufacturer sites, blogs, online watch stores, watch history sites and of course forums like this. Not to mention all the various watch magazines too. So there is interest, why not have a dedicated Watch TV or network ? Even some people who don't yet like the hobby, might become fans of horology with such a channel. Also imagine the possibilities on a Watch channel, there could be watch industry news, behind the scenes insight shows,reviews of watches,maybe interviews with company designers, CEOS, watchmakers, or everyday collectors like us. There might be special event, on location shows at various watch shows, even Basel ! Perhaps a game show ...Well anyway...still waiting for this elusive Watch TV, Watch Channel, Horology Network, etc. to come around !!! Anyone have any thoughts or feelings on this ? Hey how about ZMTV ! Maybe start thinking of some show names !

It would be nice to have everything on one channel...but we already have too many snake oil salesmen out there! Maybe it would be good if the shopping channels were similar to those in Italy (for those of you who don't know, the models are often nude), then I would be on board!!

There are alot of great websites, the timetv was a great site to visit ! It kind of has the direction I was thinking of ! Still, although nice, it's not on TV ? Perhaps some show names: Andremas Dream Watches, Koi's Master of Time, Cali's Corner....Just to name a few, I could be the boom operator !!

Yes !! More history and mechanics is what I mean !! A nonstop channel dedicated to watches, the people that make them and the people who love them. From inside looks at watch company headquarters around the world to news and reviews of watches. Even looking at various peoples' collections around the world !! The discovery channel or history channel idea is great ! Maybe one of those channels could merge with a watch magazine like IW or any other watch magazine and create this new channel ! Then you guys could line up your shows: flhjims Watch History 101 show, or sheraorthos Horology From Sea to Sea show, and then Z,...how bout this...ZMTV, Zworld, or DestinatinZ, where you travel around the world looking at cool watch collections, maybe heading to Zodiac and Hamiltons' Headquarters !!

Unfortunately, it seems we will be waiting a long time for Watch TV !! You guys are all right, otherwise we would have had such a channel by now ! However, I still think that there are many people in this country and around the world that have watches and really don't know about the whole internet and watch forum thing. Perhaps they could be added into any number of watch TV viewers ! Also how about all those people that don't really pay attention to watches...they just see them as some thing on their wrists ! Maybe a Watch channel would allow them to see what "we" see in watches ! Plus let's face it...these cable channels really don't have ridiculously good ratings anyway..Watch TV should be able to pull in a few million viewers a night !! Plus I really wouldnt mind seeing all those shows I mentioned: ZMTV, ZWorld, Destination Z where we see Z at Zodiac and Hamiltion Headquaters, flhjims Watch Jewels, and Journey Back in Time, how bout Foghorns Flybacks and More, Timemachines with Foggy, or Barn's Bigtime, or the famous Barn Goes to Baselworld ...well I would set my DVR or TIVO for those !!!!

Oh yeah Watchnoob !! What do you think about your show titles: A documentary show called, Inside the Movement, where you look at various watch brands and how people follow them...you could do an episode on Marathon as well ! Also Tube Time where you review various military watches with Tritium "tube" technology. Sounds good to me !!

Right back at ya Watchnoob !! Now if we can just get this watch network up and running ! Oh well, maybe someday !.... for now thank you to everyone for your ideas, thoughts and opininons !!
