Check this one out everyone. Pretty interesting even though it's a little pricey. Thought it was neat to see, and
might be cool to talk about. The Schofield Blacklamp Carbon has a really different idea when it comes to lume.
First there is a Tritium gas light in the crown that emits a consistent glow. Then there is a luminous material
developed by NASA called "Moonglow" set in the form of a ring below the crystal around the dial.
The Blacklamp's case is 44 mm, and made of "Morta", a carbon fiber mix. It's dial is a black lacquered brass
specially engraved with concetric circles, and has dual layers, applied numbers, and markers, sub-seconds
at 6 o'clock, and the minute, and hour hands remind you of the Schofield logo. A custom Unitas 6498-2 with
45 hour power reserve powers the watch as well.
Something else about the watches that's interesting is how each limited edition is named after a different
lighthouse on the English coastline. The names are actually visible through the sapphire case-backs.
Just a few a pictures, as well as link to Hodinkee with more guys...
