Need help with how a watch works

Anyone know what the button at 2 o'clock on this watch does??

It does look like it would be used for the GMT function , but it does not seem to have that hand on it, like the similar models that are GMT do ! Even when looking at the description of the watch, it's hard to find the function. It has the date function...not really sure of the answer !

Interesting, Sunday run lists that as #5842. The same model number on SNBC does'nt have that little appendage. The one on Shop sells for $210 but its eighty some bucks on the Sunday run.

I've got the GMT version of this watch. When I got the email about the Sunday Run, I checked the photo.

Just looked strange.
