Anybody see the Schlumpf Time Machine that will be coming up at BaselWorld 2014 soon? Don't really understand how
it works, but thought it was pretty interesting.
The Time Machine is actually said not to measure time, but is more of a "kinetic sculpture for the sensory perception of
time by the means of vision and hearing" according to Montre24. Florian Schlumpf says that: "ordinary watches have
numbers and layout, showing the time at the moment. Our watch Time Machine - it is an opportunity to perceive visually
the time course."
Each Time Machine is two meters tall and made of CNC machined steel, has a 60 cm gear, pendulum, and more with all
of it assembled, hand-finished, and decorated in the Schlumpf Workshop. With versions in black or nickel, and parts in
copper, gold, and nickel too.
