My latest eBay find is another for my Railroad collection. This watch has a railroad dial and is marked RR but I can't find where it was ever approved for railroad service. It came from Nova Scotia so who knows. I think it is a 1970 from info I found on the web. It's working great with only a battery change!! I gave it a quick clean up and polish, replaced the gasket and it's been keeping near perfect time for 24 hrs.

Some Info:

"THE DYNOTRON “ELECTROMECHANICAL” MOVEMENT
The ESA (Ebauches SA of Switzerland) 9150 Dynotron movement was first prototyped in 1967 and was produced for 2-3 years from 1968 -’70. After 1970, the 9150 was superseded by two faster beat models called the 9157 & 9158 movement. Hamilton and Benrus, among other variants, also used these movements in this same period. This fascinating movement uses a mainspring which is electronically “excited” by the use of a battery which is pulsed via transistors. The calibre number can faintly be seen under the vanes of the balance wheel only when rotating or after disassembly.

Mine is the ESA 9154: 1970, has date, rate increased to 28,800 BPH

Here is a link to a cool site for just Electric and Electronc watches: http://www.electric-watches.co.uk/

First shots show original condition, some movents pics, then with crystal and case polished and finally all strapped up and ready to wear. Check out the photo with the back...it shows the chunk of aluminum foil that was jammed in there to make battery fit!! This is a super cool piece! I have some other electronics...none seem to work as well as this one.

Yep, I dig it too. There is something really cool about the electric (sans quartz) watches.

Now there's a special watch Gary ! Wittnauer RR-12 WT Electric 803574 I like the combination of the
white dial, along with red, and black accents. It's REAL nice sir ! That
movement is so fun to look at as well. There are so many neat looking
parts, and even some aluminum foil too ! Wittnauer RR-12 WT Electric Icon_smile It's VERY cool learning
about these kinds of watches ! Thanks, and Congrats to you on
finding, as well as getting this one !..ENJOY !
